Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

You guys? Anyway, pretty disturbing that you were happy to see a college kid cry...but whatever floats your boat. Your team didn't even make the tournament...try worrying about that. Was it a choke job by Wisconsin when they got embarrased by BC last year? It happens. If your fellow Wisconsin fans think you're a great representation of the fan base, that tells me all I need to know about you guys.

J.D. you cast aspersions such as "if fellow wisconsin fans think...." while getting ****ed at a board member generalizing about BC fans. You can't have it both ways.

Many BC fans became arrogant dbags on this board after their win last year. It was unpleasant really. Doesn't mean it was you, but it's not like someone is going to post their flaming about BC and the take time to list each board member this is directed at. I think you understand how this works.

I don't know if it's out-of-bounds to say you're happy to see a man (and they are men dude, all over 18 (some guys go to war at that age, just sayin) and getting scholarship money to play a game they love, and pretty much get the best in coaching from most of these teams for a shot at the NHL) cry after losing a game like that. I'd say it's harsh for sure, but to each their own.

If we wanna get into a ****ing match about what you and cannot say or think about opposing teams or fans we may as well just set fire to those old pages under glass in washington d.c.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

I see Coach Eaves is being badmouthed by CC fans in the West regional thread. Anyone know W T F that's all about?

they're still ****ing (see randymay) about the testwuide/burish incident from 4+ years ago.

they can hang onto that FAIC.

Wisconsin Hockey: move along, nothing to see here but the build-up to another championshi run

IF was the key word. Didn't say you guys actually did. Certainly wasn't trying to generalize. Point is each team has bad fans on here. It appears to me that he is your worst. Since some of you are so concerned with how certain BC fans acted, I would just expect some consistency in that that guy is an idiot.

I haven't seen gurtholfin go "old salty" or "CHRIS!" in the past. It would be different to me if this were one of the UW fans from last season who all had red dots under their screen names (all of whom have disappeared surprise surprise).

and yes, we all have bad fans, I just don't think gurtholfin fits that category. this year I don't recall seeing craziness on our UW threads.

I understand your being upset or ****ed about the comment below, I'm just sayin it's a one and done from someone who probably felt really exasperated by things said last year from some bc poster or posters.

So let me get this straight. You come into OUR thread and make a comment once again talking smack about beating us last year. I make a rude comment back (which I stand behind) and I'm the bad fan.

Whatever. I don't like BC. In addition, I remember YOU specifically from last year and when you guys are doing well, you certainly like to pop off.

I hope the whole team had a good cry. Remember, these aren't squirts we're talking about here and it's not like Muse was at his grandma's funeral crying and I thought it was funny.

When I come in your thread talking like that, feel free to have an issue with it.

Until then, quit your crying or if you can't, ask Muse for a tissue.

Yes, I came into the thread. My original post was in response to what I read. It's not like my post came out of nowhere. I don't really care if you like BC or not--I don't expect you to. That doesn't mean that you haven't come across like a complete ****** IMO. So if you want to call out certain BC fans, be prepared to take some heat if you're acting like a dick. And sorry, you don't remember me from last year. I can guarantee you I didn't post anything about your team after last year's game unless it was in response to something I first read from a Wisconsin fan--much like I did here.

Starting to wonder about your obsession with John Muse. The fact you're all giddy that he was crying is just another example of YOU coming across as the a-hole.

Have a good day.

OK put 'em down you two.

Gurt, crying after losing is traditional and acceptable to these guys--Gionta blubbered nicely after losing the NC in '01. Sure, it would embarrass either of us if one of our team's players did it (could you imagine Burish doing that?!), but it's not a tradition here in the midwest either, you know.

And J.D. Gurt's not a bad guy. Sure, he's a bonehead, but all Badger fans are boneheads. I'm not a Badger fan, but I'm a bonehead too. It's the way hockey fans are made to be. You might not be one, but after reading your posts, I'm not sure I would bet against it.

Must have been tears of joy :D

Guess I just don't have a problem with college athletes crying. Maybe I'm in the minority.

actually crying after you lost a national championship or high school championship is pretty much the norm.

see Wisconsin players in 1992. tears aplenty after that travesty. clear to see on the replays at the end of the game

It's one thing to cry after the worst screw job by officials in a championship game ever, it's another to cry after your team lays a collective egg while playing a team you are clearly better than.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

...anyway ...did anybody watch Notre Dame with (Madison/Verona's own, who WAS NOT recruited by Wisconsin) Mike Johnson in net? He only made 37 saves and is in the Frozen Four as a sophomore.

You're ****ing right I'm still bitter and all of you know how vocal I have been since he signed with ND 2 years ago. What was UW thinking? I have a feeling they were counting on landing a couple other goalies along the way...now look what we're up against.

I'm not pointing fingers (I only know one piece of the puzzle), but I think the Bill Howard and Aaron Crandall deals were going on when Johnson should have been recruited.

Congrats to MJ, but I still hate everything to do with Notre Dame.

I'm really hoping that Duluth makes it to the final or I may just not watch.

That said and even though I have an irrational, long-standing disdain for all things Notre Dame, I will probably have to root for them over either party from the other side of the bracket.

Yeah? I actually don't mind NoDak. They play good hard-nosed hockey. I'll be rooting for them to win it all. And I was happy Notre Dame made the FF rather than UNH (western bias! :)), but I hope UMD makes them look like fools in that game.

Really? I thought what we had together was special, this rivalry. Was it all just lies? Do you even care anymore?

Me too. I want UMD to go all the way. The sue are a bunch of thugs, Meechigan no freakin way. For the record, I don't mind Notre Dame.

MCR...I think Crandall was in the bank for Eaves, therefore he didn't look at Johnson, which is a shame. Oh well, I'm looking very forward to Rumpel Rink time next year. Seeing how well Sam King of the Brittains did this year for DU has me even more confident in Rumpel. Brittain had a 3.27 and .896 in the AJHL, and Rumpel's numbers are quite a bit better than those in the BCHL. The thing I don't know is the BCHL/AJHL comparison. I'm sure somebody smarter than I can shed some light on the different leagues.

Dooood! We B tight. I enjoy your banter. You the Dank. Make that Diggity Dank.

But I just can't root for NoDak, even when you're playing the Gophers, I'm just rooting for them to lose, not for you guys to win.

Even if I didn't despise your team with every ounce of my being, I still couldn't root for the dominant favorite - which you guys are.

All that said, I won't lose any sleep if you guys win. I'd be up for weeks if the Gophers ever won it again. :D

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

There's only three teams in the country with more titles than the Badgers, right? And two of them are in the frozen four. No way I can pull for someone to build that lead, so I'm left with Notre Dame or Duluth. Notre Dame??? Seriously??? Can't be done. If nothing else, conference loyalty insists that I chuck all my eggs in UMD's basket and go for broke.

I agree with pretty much everything here. Although I think we'll be fine with Rumpel. I'm excited to see what he can bring to the table next season.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

No brainer - UMD. I just can't gin up the same amount of hate for them I can for the other three.
