Head men’s hockey coach Mike Eaves has announced the signing of Jason Clark (Eden Prairie, Minn.) to a national letter of intent. Clark will join the Badgers for the fall of 2010.

Clark, a 6-2 and 183-pound forward, comes to Wisconsin from Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Faribault, Minn. An Eden Prairie, Minn., native, Clark skated in 54 games in 2009-10, recording 23 goals and 46 points, as well as a team-high 80 penalty minutes. He also totaled 19 goals and 45 points in 51 games played during 2008-09 for Shattuck.

Slotted 73rd among North American Skaters in NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings, the left-handed shooting Clark spent his freshman and sophomore years at Eden Prairie High School.

“Jason will be a power forward for us,” said Eaves. “He’s very athletic and is a good skating, puck-skilled forward with a big shot.”

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 3: Just win, baby!

I'm doing an Offseason Interview Series with Wisconsin players that have made it to Juniors or College hockey. Over the past two weeks I posted interviews with future Badger defenseman Jake McCabe, potential Badger defenseman Joe Fiala, and I just put up an interview with future Badger forward Cody Strang.

Although I had not intended to begin the series with such a heavy slant toward future and potential Badgers (it just happened that way), it looks likely that my next interview will be with another future Badger....

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 3: Just win, baby!

I kind of had to chuckle at the fact that Clark let his team in penalty minutes. I cant decide if thats a good thing or a bad thing...

Didn't see the article this belongs to, but a tweet from http://twitter.com/QuickFacts

""It would have to be a GM I have a relationship with, the right situation." Mike Eaves said he would speak to Lou Lamoriello if he called. " re: Eaves going pro.

To me, this seems impolitic at best considering he just got a 5 year extension and lost his two assistants. (To be fair, didn't read that he accepted the extension, just that the board approved it.)

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 3: Just win, baby!

While I doubt the chances of Eaves leaving this summer are very good, it would be pretty hilarious (in a "you can't help but laugh because it's so sad" way) if all 3 coaches needed to be replaced in one offseason.

Much to do about nothing IMO.

I will also be applying for Oz's job although I haven't been contacted for the other opening yet. They must still be reviewing resumes.

Your application is slowing bubbling up to the top, Gurtholfin.

Maybe I should have waited and shot for Head Coach. Still no contact from UW although I haven't checked my answering machine today. It's only a matter of time. ;)

I'll believe that when it actually happens. I dont see Eaves leaving the UW any time soon.

****. I wanted him to Replace Oz. Oz is going to build a powerhouse over there. I may have to root for them out of the CCHA.

Hmmm. Could Oz be a Barry Alvarez plant to further the adoption of the BTHC?

{kidding}

At the very least it will lessen Boston's chances of winning another championship.
