Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 3: Just win, baby!

If anyone happened to record the game and has not erased over it, I would love to track down a copy of the entire game. I should have a recording of this mornings rebroadcast, but those generally are somewhat edited. My son was the little dude in the fake stash that got shown during the game and was part of the game highlight package on sportscenter.

You can usually buy copies on DVD online, give it a few weeks.

Any word on Stefan? Is he OK?

If BC didn't regularly destroy the WCHA's best teams in the NCAA, you'd have a point. This isn't just recently, either. Back in 99 and 2000, BC beat North Dakota and Wisconsin in the regionals, beat UND in 2001 in the final, etc. I think the Eagles would be fine in the WCHA.

Just because BC would do fine in the WCHA doesn't mean that the Hockey East is a good conference. If you take BC out of the Hockey East that isn't a very good conference. Yes, BC has done well in the last ten years no one is debating that. What is in question is that BC is a top five program over the course of the last 30-40 years. They were a top 3 program of the last ten years, if not the top.

Every conference has the good, the bad, and the ugly. If BC were somehow the beneficiary of a bad conference, it would show badly in the NCAAs like the ECAC teams usually do.

To simplify things, there's no debate that BC has been the best program in the country since Jerry York arrived.

Overall? BC leapfrogged a few schools who had three and IMO are now in an "elite" status with the following programs:

Michigan
Denver
UND
Wisconsin
Minnesota
BU

True, but top to bottom the WCHA is better than the Hockey East no question about it. The Hockey East isn't a bad conference it just isn't great. What blows my mind is how UNH finished ahead of BC. BC was such a better team than UNH. Just shows that the regular season is just a warm up for the games that matter.

I would agree with that order.

LOL at "The Hockey East"

Now, I will easily concede that the top of the WCHA was better than the top of Hockey East this year, but 6-9 I'd give the edge to Hockey East. JMO.

ACC-Big Ten challenge.......Hockey East-WCHA challenge. Who do we have to call to get this to happen.

re: BC in the regular season

They've won four titles under York, but seven HE tournaments. They've never really been a dominant regular season team.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 3: Just win, baby!

80's and 90's were pretty good too, so was the 2000's. I will take a sleeve of thin mints please put them in the freezer they taste better that way.

Well, of course 2000 was a great year for the Bucky program. I remember how good they were when they played in Providence at the 2000 Frozen Four, led by Hobey Baker winner Steve Reinprecht. Oh wait...nevermind...

We have Bemidji and UNO now, so I don't know!

That would actually have been the 99-00 season, which would fall in the 90's.

You'd have to find a TV network that cared.

Would be cool though...

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 3: Just win, baby!

Hockey East vs. WCHA Challenge

DU vs UNH
UW vs BC
St.Clould vs. BU
UMD vs Maine
UND vs. Lowell
Bemidji vs Mass
CC vs Merrimack
Minny vs Vermont
UNO vs Northeastern
Mankato vs. Providence

I will call ESPN. I am sure they will jump all over this idea.
