Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

Where have you seen a forward take the leg out from a goaltender and it not be called goaltender interference on a resulting goal?
I was referring to the route he took and there being some contact. Not necessarily the tripping of the goaltender. I personally did think there was interfering with the goaltender on the play. However, I also thought that Hauser embellished things. All being said, the correct call was still made in my opinion.

Referring to the commentators, they were brutal bad. It felt like they had never seen a game of hockey before and got "saddled" with the call. Their knowledge of the game felt embarrassing.

Ahhh gotcha. Misunderstood what you meant. My bad :)

I think most of the commentators are more or less knowledgeable on hockey, as they are emplyed by FoxSports. However, remember the game was assigned last minute to be on BTN that evening. Regardless, I agree, sometimes their hockey knowledge is sorely lacking. I don't know how games get assigned, but it doesn't help that the TV slate is entrenched way before the season ever starts, so when games are assigned last min, pre-production by announcers seems avereage at best. I hoenstly think BTN only has a couple college hockey crews. And the goofs are about the only team they'll broadcast on a Fri/Sat weekend. With the TV schedule kinda locked in, the Goofs are on like 14 times...brutal lol.

This was a good game, and feel like WI prob should have won that considering their roster in 94/95 and it being at Dane County Coliseum in the 95 NCAA tourney. I'm not aware of anything nefarious that led to the Michigan game winner, but I don't hav that knowledge either. Michigan sweep in the tourney woulda been nice! Feel like that was a season that got away from them at the end after going on the run to win the WCHA Tourney.
Yes! It was a hell of a game. I was there that weekend. Spencer, Tok, Strobel, Carter. That was sort of the last hurrah before they slid back due to bad recruiting.

But the crowd was amazing. And UW gave Michigan all they could handle.

I feel like the 99/00 team with Heatley, Reinprecht, Melanson, Hukkalo, Dessner was the last hurrah for Sauer, and I think it crushed him when they came out flat against BC in the NCAAs. He never recovered as a coach.

They woulda crushed St. Lawrence and had their revenge game against the Sioux for the title. Ugh, what mighta been.

3-1 against the UM's and the loss was easily preventable and a great learning opportunity. I can live with that. I REALLY want to torch tOSU. Beat them down.
So agree. In recent past seasons they have been a wrecking ball for our guys. They will try to steifel our offense. Let's not let that happen. Hope the crowds are good but OSU has never been a draw. Whoever shows will be solidly for Red with a Badger W on it.

I made the trip that weekened to Mariucci. My ist. BC kept Badgers offense in check with 0 puck luck. No excuses that night. You got a ist round bye as #1 seed then so only one win needed to FF. Still and all that season was magic. My ist Badger game in person January 2000. Nodak Friday night absolute crammed in Kohl Center. Hukalo OT game winner. The roof blew off on that one. Did it again next night. 25 years later I am still loyal fan but we have had a lot of lean years. I have much of hope for 25-26.

I would have loved to be there for this. He deserved more than a moment of silence.
Agreed.

I would think there’s enough footage of Phil over the years from PBS rebroadcasts, b10+ and footage taken by UW staff that they could put a great montage together.

Also…I would LOVE it if they would take the seat Phil sat in at the KC and make it a permanent empty seat as a memorial to a guy who did more to fire up the crowd than anyone else who wasn’t a player”

He was Like Phil Melanson the former PA announce at the DCC “are you ready for Badger Hockey??!”

Feel like we are kinda sleepwalking to start the game. Maybe a bit of a big game hangover. Tassy really struggling to catch and control pucks so far. Montgomery has been the best player tonight so far. Hopefully they wake up shortly

For whatever reason no matter how good Wisconsin is or how bad Ohio State is Ohio State has been THE thorn in the Badgers side winning 11 of the last 13 games. Who would have thought?

Bucky was standing around watching alot tonight. Osburn was really missed on the back end. There were so many mistakes from that group. Bucky looked like a team that was reading their own press clippings. Like they thought they would win by lacing up the skates. Disappointing effort to say the least

Man, Ohio State just has our number, but I think it is just a fact of really good prep and execution by their coach. Also, we just have a brutal time with big goal tenders. Can't seem to pot anything, even on grade A scoring chances. We ain't as good as we think, and OSU is better than their record would suggest. This stuff has to stop where we can't execute when it matters most.

What’s the deal with the Palodichuk and Osburn “illnesses”? Posick said that Osburn might be out a MONTH with the illness. Is it Mumps?! What illness keeps someone out for a month?

I don't like the idea of must win games in November, but this one tonight is. Have to gird up the loins, Boys, and get some work done. And if not for Phil, then why the hell are we doing this?!
