Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

Man, Ohio State just has our number, but I think it is just a fact of really good prep and execution by their coach. Also, we just have a brutal time with big goal tenders. Can't seem to pot anything, even on grade A scoring chances. We ain't as good as we think, and OSU is better than their record would suggest. This stuff has to stop where we can't execute when it matters most.
Steve Rohlik is a hell of a coach. If he was in Grand Forks or Denver he’d be winning national titles.

First ten minutes were good and then 50 minutes of poor hockey. Flush that crap.

Really bad defense hung out Hauser all night. He didn't have a great game but deserved better. Rohlick sure has Hastings number. His teams are well coached. They clutch and grab and never get called.

2 of 6 points was not what was needed, but the way it started it looked like they were headed for a sweep. Need our defensemen back.

Yeah obviously not a great weekend but I will focus on the positives as well.
Fun to see an overtime win, and I am really liking this freshman class more and more every week. Hauser has obviously been very solid (we will ignore this weekend), and Osburn has been awesome on the blueline. Montgomery and Tulk are already top guys, Awesome to see Zelenov and Idzan score their first goals tonight as well. Brink is a good 4th liner too. I really hope none of these guys transfer or leave.

It is to be expected that we're going to not play it as well defensively with those two guys sick. Lots of good film to teach with for the rest of the guys who are healthy.

I agree, the D felt very hesitant and on their heals this weekend. They backed in really deep and gave attacking players way to much room. Youth and inexperience i will chalk some of that up to. However, at times the backcheck was lacking allowing OSU to attack the D with alot of speed

If was a fun game to watch but the dagger for Ohio State is it's inability not to commit stupid penalties at crucial moments. I felt the momentum was on Ohio State's side if it had been just 3 on 3 in OT. Also that disallowed goal was a gift to the Badgers. Congrats on the win.

I agree that the momentum was definitely on OSU side. The disallowed goal wasn't a gift. I thought the officials were kind of quick on the whistle all night. In a situation like that, a goaltender covering the puck, the play is dead as soon as the official intends to blow the play dead in his head. Not necessarily when the whistle actually blows. Its kind of a weird thing, but that is how it works.
