Final thought before I have too much thinner. At the very very very least, after this season Strobel should be gone.
Also, i’m Far from convinced Oseicki is still a good ncaa coach for D. Jesus, how many goals will his guys give up?

5 straight years without ncaa’s. Wow.

Our radio guys were absolutely ripping our team before that late burst of goals (when it was 5-4). We have no defense skills. None. It's our offense, when it exists, and Robson. That's it.

You guys scoring 4 special teams goals tipped the dumpster over onto UW, that was your saving grace it appears.

The Mpls Star Trib predicted that would be the difference, given the rankings of WI PK and MN PP. For once, they seem to be right.

Did the Star Trib say that the Badgers are a horribly coached hockey team, because that would have been the most accurate statement that they could have made coming into the weekend.

If they can TG, will they lose the big 3 coming in next year? I'd be good with OZ taking over, or bring in DG or pry Rohlik from OSU and retain Oz. Either of those 3 guys would probably have enough draw to keep them. I am just shocked at the state of the program.

The Star Trib is too sanitized to really rip anything (for sports, anyways).

Again, for years I've warned you guys about the goaltending. It HAS NOT been and IS NOT Division 1 calibre. Lack of a 'tendie coach really hurts because a good one spots bad habits and can consult in recruiting. Other than face offs I'm OK with the offense. From the blue line back, I have absolutely no confidence. Where are the posters arguing a couple weeks ago that we'll be better when K' returns?

You're not wrong but any team is going to lose focus when their goalie is a total sieve, it's happened to far better teams than this one too. Berry basically gave the game away in the first and the team put up a hell of a fight to bring it back to 3-2 only for the Gophers to get two really lucky bounces. Even after that they came back to 5-4 and then the goalie lets in a goal from the blue line on a pretty weak shot at which point the team clearly lost focus and got ****ed.

Any team is gonna look bad and have poor body language etc. when that's the case. It's certainly not what you want to see but it seems pretty clear what the issue is and finding an average goalie in the offseason isn't an insurmountable task.

Also is there really no goalie coach?

There really is no goalie coach. I don't recall the circumstances, but yeah. No goalie coach.

They parted says with the volunteer guy, the name escapes me, at the end of last season and didn't replace him with another goalie coach, they added Brad Winchester as a volunteer coach, a former F who mostly played professionally in the AHL.

I watched TDM's Facebook live summary for the first time. It was pretty good. I was hoping for some more pointed analysis. I didn't get to watch the game last night, so I was looking for objective analysis. He did say that the goalies weren't s bad as 9 indicates and he said they started Berry due to Lebedeff's injury, which I found irritating because if he wasn't healthy enough to start, then he's not healthy enough to play at all. Apparently people on twitter want TG fired now, obviously that's not happening during the season.

His reaction to my question of "which goalie starts on Sat" was hilarious. A total cringe and "ehhhhhhhhh, wellllllllll...."
Don't get me wrong, I'd have the same reaction.

And he's still kind of raw on this video thing. Don't know how long he's been doing it, so it may take some time to sharpen his "television" skills.

Uh, right here? Denver outplayed the Badgers heavily on that Saturday. They were better last night, even if their goalies can't make a save. You don't drop almost 50 shots on a team and not say your "skaters" outplayed the other team. Badgers outplayed the gophers last night but there's only so much the skaters can do when their goalie can't save a beach ball.

Does Wisco still have the highest paid coaching staff in the NCAA? Tony has got to be the worst bang-for-buck coach.
 
My point that week was, K'Andre coming back wasn't going to make a difference and it hasn't. This isn't on him, but we're worse. As Todd M mentioned, you can't blame the goalies on all of the goals, but man, they are awful.

Big ****ing deal; they out shot a team. It's a bull**** stat and always has been. QUALITY, not quantity. You can lob a puck at the net and the score keeper will count it as a shot.

NOW AGAIN, because of this below average program, we have to be concerned about losing more verbal commits, losing guys early like Miller, or simply not getting quality kids. You know the competition is around those guys like sharks.

My final rant;the team lets in 9 goals, Granato is ****ed off at a frustrated 19 year old kid breaking a stick over a goal post, and it's discussed in several paragraphs? THAT'S what he's ****ed about? JFC, he was no saint at UW or in the NHL, he should know then feeling.
 
Well that’s precisely what Novak did, he lobbed a bad shot to the net to make it 6-4 and then the D and the rest of the team gave up.

The shot total isn’t a prophecy by any means but if you switched goalies with everything else remaining the same I have zero doubt the Badgers win the game last night.

Also I can just about guarantee the badgers had more quality chances up until the Novak goal.
