Wisconsin Hockey 20-21 Give Us A Reason To Believe

Welcome aboard, Ranger. This wagon is getting full.

By the way, did anybody else see the reverse-retro sweaters for the Wild? They were sporting them the other night against my Avalanche, and being an old NorthStars fan, I was sporting something as well.

First it was the Lakers, then the North Stars.......... I just struggle to get excited about Timber Wolves and Wild......which might be good luck for them! ;)

This I agree with. I will be watching either way. And you are correct they have been better on D.

It would have been interesting to see how the Hammer would have fared this season with the D playing as well as they are in front of him and in transition. I don't think Cam or the Robster have allowed what would be called a soft goal in any games that I have seen. He's not faring too well in the Finish league he is playing in now, but I don't know to what equivalent that league is to leagues in North America.

just remember in college, sitting outside the Met.....drinking Schmidt waiting for the tickets to go to $5. Good days, still hate Norm Green.

My college days games were tailgating outside that Arizona Coliseum before the Phoenix Roadrunners games drinking Olympia, pretty much the same thing.....
AZ didn't have NHL then, but having gone to elementary school in MN the MN teams were dear to me.
Enuff of that, this is a Wisky thread, excuse us guys.

It's a great day for hockey! Time to fry some greasy grimey gopher guts. A little flour, then egg, then Panko, fry them to a crisp and then down the garbage disposal with them. I mean, hey, even the garbage disposal has to eat, right?

I feel bad for the garbage disposal.

Next two nights will give us an idea how far this team has come this year. Tempering my excitement for now......

The big dogs came to play tonight boys, girls and gifted animals. The Robster was AWESOME. (Do you come back with him or roll with Rowe whose also hot?) To outshoot them and not allow a ton of quality chances in the meantime with Robbie cleaning up the poo was just fantastic. D who actually play D with enough brains to pull the string at just the right time. Awesome. Block lots of shots. Awesome. And Mr Ranta botching an open net look in those urine colored breezers so you can't see him pee himself after that. YES! The gals with a HUGE 3rd period comeback and stick it to them in OT. Life just doesn't get better than this when the water is frozen. I feel like I just boated a 50" musky. Oh BABY! Finish it tomorrow guys and gals. FINISH IT!

That was the most complete game the Badgers have played in many, many years.

Agreed! But to the comment on negative Nancy’s made by booya, uhm, 3 consecutive losing seasons in under Granato. This was a great game, a great team effort finally. But it’s one game. Hopefully they’ve turned the corner.

Hell yes TimothyA! I watched the 3rd period of the men’s game and followed the women on twitter feed. Great start to the weekend!

I fully get it. How many times over the last 3 years have we thought they finally figured it out only to have our hopes crushed? The eye test is why I feel so great about his team. The repeated repeated repeated mistakes of the past are gone. Other than the first 2 periods of game 2 against PSU (who for some reason they just seem to struggle against), they are on a positive trajectory since Goal Caufield and Dylan Goalaway have got back from the Jr tourney offensively and defensively other than ASU series 1 when they were missing a lot of players, the transition and D zone play has been good, and the goaltending has been the best since Rumpel was in town.

They are even good at faceoffs this year. LOL.

I think UW matches up well with the rodents, hence they are 2-1 against them. I think with wins against the #1 and #2 team it's going to make it hard for the ncaa people to ignore them as long as they stay playing the way they are playing and don't pick up a couple bad losses in the last 6 games.

That’s great and all, but you’re living in the past. And it’s not just one game, it’s been every single game this team has had except when Covid hit and Holloway was gone for the WJC. You can see they are different. Not even talking about goals either. I’m talking the willingness to get down and block a shot from both defenders and forwards.

9-2-0 with Holloway playing.
