Blockski, you and I think a lot alike. I like the jersey itself, but I have never ever liked that logo. The hockey program seems stuck on it, though. *shrug*

As far as audio webcasts, it appears that both UW and Mich use CBS College Sports All-Access, and that's $9.95/mo.

Nothing wrong with the logo exactly (not a huge fan of it, but it's not too bad), but it's not a good choice for a jersey. Jerseys need big, easily identifiable logos or simple text. After all, you're reading them on players constantly in motion. It's also not easily identified with other Wisconsin symbols - it's not just a W, or just Bucky - it's got too much going on.

The logo is fine for letterhead or something like that, but not a jersey.

The jersey itself looks good - I like the all-red look with minimal white piping and trim, but it would look so much better if you had a white script Badgers text across the front, like this old Third jersey:

I know a lot of people like that one, I personally think there's too much going on with it - too many stripes, etc. But the script "Badgers" is fantastic. Invert the colors and slap it on that red jersey, and we've got a winner.

I don't get why they love that logo so much. Bucky's head is great and all, but it should be left for the kids' stuff.

I can't get blockski's link, but I'm assuming that he's alluding to the old thirds from '05-'06 with the baseball script "badgers" on it. Those were fantastic.

What I'd really like to see is a jersey that does something with the academic shield logo. But, as far as the Athl. Dept. is concerned, that's probably about as good of an idea as letting people carry signs or flags into the Kohl Center...

I think it's time for the Big Ten to have hockey. It's also funny to me when everyone talks of North Dakota or ND joining. People don't understand that in order to be in this conference you have to be a Big Ten school! A lot of people say this will hurt college hockey, but if other Big Ten schools develop programs they'd be helping college hockey. Everyone who grew up watching Big Ten sports seems to want this hockey conference, but people who never grew up watching Big Ten sports either hate the idea or don't understand the conference. The fact is the Big Ten should have the right to have a hockey conference.

You need to do some more research on this board. There are very few here who want the BTHC who did grow up watching the Big Ten. This has been rehashed over and over. No BTHC wanted. Welcome to the board though.

Do your research, there was a Big Ten Hockey conference before. It will NEVER happen again. It just isn't economically feasible. End of story...:mad:

I don't think I know 1 person who wants to see UW play Ohio State (an established program), let alone anyone who'd want to see Iowa, Penn State, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern play UW in hockey.

As was said below there was a B10 conference of sorts in the 70's. Hockey fans prefer the match-ups that have endured and created huge rivalries. In the 60's-70's believe it or not Michigan Tech was a powerhouse and had great games vs. UW and MN, I'd rather not lose that history just because the new hockey fans (read: football and roundball people who bring that fan lame lowest common denominator mentality to the games, if you don't know what I mean scroll through the posts about our student section being taken over by the football mentality)

I think if you took a poll of HOCKEY fans you'd have less than 10% who'd want a B10 conference.

If you asked Football or Roundball fans, I'm sure you'd get the opposite but that's the point. Leave our phucking hockey teams and conferences alone, we don't need the big football kegstand 4-story bong people coming in and screwing this all up for us at the games, and we don't need them in administration coming up with dumb ideas like Alvarez does, and then he doesn't care about hockey anyway????? so it's really all about MORE football and roundball exposure......NOT more HOCKEY exposure.:mad:

The logo on the 3rd jersey is the "official" Wisconsin hockey logo, that what gets put on all the gear the players get such as jackets, polo's and such. I thought the 3rd jerseys were fine, better then years past. Is that the jersey for the CRHC or will be have a different one for that?

I'm betting thats the last time eaves dresses just 11 forwards and 7 D-man again unless he moved B. Smith to offense for the game. Just a poor call IMO,i think dolan should have started instead of springer.. Springer didn't really play after the first few shifts and when murray got hurt we were down to 10 forwards, you are not going to beet michigan with 10 forwards... sorry to say...

I'll be writing a long letter to alverez discussing this topic as well as the terrible TV deal the program has. It is unacceptable to for a program like this playing Mich and Mich. St and the UW fan base doesn't get to watch the games, unacceptable, this program deserves better.I hope everyone else will do the same, if all people do is complain about it on here, the powers that be could careless but if season ticket holders come forward and let them know that this program doesn't deserve to be treated like this then they will listen...

As bad as the rodents are playing, that loss from earlier in the year looks worse and worse all the time. This team has enough talent on it that it should be beating the teams that are worse then them recordwise. And the loss to UM Saturday stigns too. They were ripe for the picking and they got left on the tree.

After the Techies and the showdown, UW plays @ UND, CC and has DU coming to the Kohl. Conventional thinking would say sweep Tech & the showdown and go 3-3 against the rest. I consider 3-3 against the powers a disappointment, essentially giving up on a top 3 finish. Their record would be 10-7-1 in league at that point, with 10 games with all midpack or lower teams left. I predict 7-3, with their final league record being 17-10-1.

I just did the Sue what it calculator, I had DU 42, CC & UND 39, UW 35 SCSU 32

This team really needs to start kicking *** and taking names.

I don't see CC hanging on for a 2nd place finish, now is the time there schedule starts to get a little more difficult, they played us opening weekend with 2 games under there belt and got out played for most of
Friday's game and barely could manage tie when we played without Geoffrion, B. Smith, Lee and Davies on saturday. The loss to UAA at home also throws up a red flag to me. They have gotten off to a great start but now is where we will find out how good CC really is. I still think you are looking at DU, UND and UW as the top 3. We usually play pretty well at UND and I think that will be a big test for this team and I think they will be up for it. But 4 points this weekend against tech is required, that is for sure... 3 points is not good enough...

So I bit the bullet and ordered 20 for the Camp Randall game...anybody know what the deal is with getting your group's name on the scoreboard? Are they going to contact me, or...?
