Wisconsin Badgers Off-Season '11

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Off-Season '11

Lindenwood just flat out ran out of gas in the second period on Friday night. It was clear that for them to be able to compete at the D1 level, they're going to have to work on fitness. I'm sure that with few breaks from pressure in their defensive end, they were playing long shifts, but they're going to have to figure out a way to overcome that.

I was pretty impressed with Lindenwood's freshman goalie early on- she was making some great saves. Of course, late in the third period she seemed to get a cramp after a pile-up in the goal and she smacked Brittany Ammerman in the back of the head - Ammerman was down for a few minutes following it.

I was really impressed by sophomore Kelly Jaminski. I don't remember hearing much about her during last season. Stats saw she played all 41 games, but she had no goals and 10 assists. Friday night she led the way with two goals and three assists. It will be interesting to see if she can keep it up against WCHA opponents.

The walk-through tunnel that is near the construction was not open. The Bucky's Locker Room store is completely empty, but had signs saying it would return in October, making me wonder if a door on that side will be open by then.
