Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

I appriciate that greatly, what does everyone else think about the line shifting? I'd love to see Murray-Smith-Turnbull and then Mersch-Dahl-Zengerle. Dahl looked good last night and did some good things on the PK maybe it's wishful thinking but it might cause a spark.

Start Bennett (and I'm not a Bennett fan based on his last several games) I suppose since Gudmanson looked awful last night. if nothing else to just give him a break and shake it up. that film session today had to suck. all the rat goals were hardwork on the rat part and just lousy coverage and lousy effort on the UW.

Jason Clark and Joe Faust. please insert these guys into the line-up

I have no idea why Zengerle passed up wide open looks with no-one in front of him last night. He didn't even look up so his mind was made up to pass. putting him on the 2nd line means he'll try feeding the other 2 guys on the 2nd line, it may or may not result in him shooting the puck more.

if they don't win tonight the NCAA train may be leaving the station and wins at St. Cloud and vs CC would be imperative just to keep their name in the conversation at #17-20

For the first time in his career Eaves has stood pat with the lines for the majority of the season. Moving Podge to center before Christmas was the last major change that there has been (not counting changing fourth line wingers). I could see Eaves making some changes but does he really want an all freshman second line?

If he gets put on a line where he is the main goal scoring threat maybe he will fire the puck a little more. He had no problem scoring goals last year, maybe being the main man on a line will bring that back.

Just an idea, my opnion means nothing but wishful thinking

Looked like much better effort from the Badgers. Bennett played well. Patrick Johnson showed some burst that I haven't seen out of him as a Badger. Not just his goal but other times he was winning 50/50 battles great game for him. Really thought Schultz was going to bury that one with 10 seconds left in OT. Too bad.

Season series ends 1-1-2. Doesn't get much closer than that.

So how did we end up moving up in the PWR after only getting 1 point this weekend? Must've had some good results above us.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

Easily one of the best players all weekend was Jefferson Dahl, and it was nice to see him finally get that 1st career goal to tie the game. He deserved it, hustled every shift and gave the effort his teammates were largely lacking. He won a lot of faceoff too. He has come a long way in 2 years when he was w/ teh Gamblers and I saw him play several times. Bright future for him.

I'm not sure what the deal is w/ Zengerle, but its time for this young man to think shoot first for a few games. He has wonderful hands and passing skills, but he can fill the net too, and the team needs him to worry a little less about making the perfect pass and shooting when he has a decent opportunity, and he ****ed away several great opportunities this weekend.

Gophers were not the better team last night, Bucky gave them a point.

Starting to think the bye week was the worst thing for this team, I thought it feel at a good time for the stretch run, but Goody is cold and the team just doesn't seem to have "it" right now. They need to find it ASAP.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

BB looked to have injured himself during one of his saves. A couple time-outs later he was still flexing his back. Watching the DVR replay, it was mentioned he "looked" like he got hurt, but I haven't heard anything.

Chuck?

Most of the 3rd and OT he was in pain, it seemed. Every TV T.O. he would stretch it out and down a lot of fluids. Not sure if it was cramping up bad or if he was injured.

He said in the post game that he was kind of faking it to give his guys an extra rest. While it may be true that he exaggerated a bit, something was wrong. I'm guessing a senior in possibly his last chance to play in his college career isn't coming out of that game unless he's got a broken leg. Give the kid credit for gutting it out. Hopefully he's fine.

Regardless of what it was, it didn't seem serious.

He definetly looked to me like he was cramping up a bit. He kept motioning over the the trainers that he wanted more water bottles, was stretching on just about every stoppage of play and was definetly hurting towards the end of the game.. I find it kind of hard to believe that he was just faking it to give his teammates a little more rest time.

Some changes for this weekend. Bennett will start in goal Friday vs. the SCSU (Chuck hinted about this on Twitter) and new d-pairings with Schultz-Ramage, Gardiner-Simonelli, Johnson-Faust. All will start this weekend. Eaves must be pretty upset with play lately and I don't blame him.

Not surprised by the changes defensively. I am surprised by Bennett going again Friday. Might as well though. He played really well Saturday.
