Check out Eau Claire moving up 3 spots (#7 to #4) by beating up on that powerhouse Stout ( a 6-13 team). How in the world does that happen ???

Two possible answers..
A) The pollsters may believe that the "powerhouse Stout" you refer to are just that.
or
B) Western Bias from the eastern pollsters.

I have my Blugold glasses on, but IMO, if you take a look at the whole season and not just last weekend it may be easier to understand. UWEC set the NCAA DIII record for consecutive shut outs and were roughly 20 mins (I believe) from breaking the NCAA record for all levels set by Lake State (DI) back in 1994. On top of that, their only blemishes have almost all come from the beginning part of the season, two against The Green Knight's, one against UW-Stevens Point, and the tie on the road at UW-Superior. Recently it set the trend that the #1's and 2's followed last weekend by thumping UWRF on a Friday 1/25 only to be beat by the same team the next night. Plus I know this doesn't mean Krach, but since it's in UWEC's favor I'll take a page from the fish and use their #2 SOS (it's on the internet so it has to be right). In all seriousness, this group has really come together and is playing some very strong hockey since break. They have some extremely tough games coming up at home against Superior this weekend and then they go on the road to play Stevens Point (plus the remaining WIAC Schedule), so there is still a lot of time to really mess things up. Either way, the Blugolds will either show in the next four games whether or not they are the real deal and are eerily mirroring this team's season http://www.uscho.com/scoreboard/st-norbert/mens-hockey/2011-2012/ or if they're a team that's better than average, but not worthy this year. Considering what the Blugolds had to replace, this group has been getting it done and have been a lot of fun to watch again this year!!!

D3 - 15 || ecac/w - 0

D3 - 15 || ecac/w - 0

Its USCHO...their poll has always been a joke...
The other poll, which I personally believe has more merit, contains no ECAC/W team. I don't recall a time when the ECAC/W has been shut out of any poll, legitimate or not. Gives credence to how irrelevant the league has become in only two short years. (Utica is not a top 15 team)

I was thinking that same thing. ..

There is a lot of talk about western bias. How has the east faired against the west this year?

Who has won the last three National Championships? There's no need to complain about the bias. The scoreboard is the equalizer.

Re: Who's #1 - Poll guess of 2/3/14

You're joking right? At least have a clue what you're trying to dispute...

No. I'm not joking. Eu Claire only jumped two teams in the rankings. They have shut outs in 6 of their last 8 victories. Plattsburgh dropped one game this weekend. Babson tied an unranked Castleton. Eu Claire won both of their games against Stout (which has a quality win against Stevens Point). Stout has a 1-goal win against Curry as does Babson. So, I think Stout would have a much better record if they played on the east coast. Do some research.

Last point…amongst Stout's 13 losses 11 have been against teams that have been ranked in the Top 15 at one point this season (Lake Forest and Superior who beat Norwich being the only exceptions).

Having seen Curry, Babson, and Wisc-Stout actually play, I disagree. From what I saw of Stout, they are a solid, young team that lacks scoring, and would have a similar record in the East. They would be in every game as they have, and lack the scoring to win them. Curry is one of the worst teams I have seen play this year, Babson has won their close games, solid D & Goalie, and their lack of scoring will catch up to them pretty soon.

Nice tie. Last I checked this is better then that

Your going to try to defend a team based off of Curry and a Babson team who has beat.....?? Good one...

That's great, they have shut outs....take a bow. Yet when they actually play decent teams (SNC, UWSP) they've given up 17 goals in 3 games....They have 2 "semi" decent wins over St.Thomas, who is sketchy enough themselves, and UWRF (okay maybe). Forget the shut out, try not giving up an average of 5 goals to UWSP and maybe people will take UWEC serious and not just some team who posts shut outs against no names.

Second, the QUOTE was about Utica and Geneseo..and if you actually had a clue you would know Geneseo has a better SOS then Utica which was the point Birdwatcher was trying to make.

Just a question....who has Babson played and beat? ....next....
