Re: Who is in your Deadpool for Solo: Infinity War

Why do you say that?

The Oscars are lobbied for and rallied for, by the studios/agents/etc. There's also a snobbish aura around the Oscars. Low-brow comedies and some animation movies will never really win the big awards because they are considered sub-standard *films* (I star that in a very sarcastic tone).

Re: Who is in your Deadpool for Solo: Infinity War

Well yes obviously. I meant in regards to why Dunkirk and Three Billboards didn’t win. Lots of fart jokes in Dunkirk.

Re: Who is in your Deadpool for Solo: Infinity War

Question: have you seen these films and what are your thoughts on them if you’ve seen em?

Saboteur by Hitchcock.

The Package, 1989 film with Gene Hackman and Tommy Lee Jones.

Watched Three Billboards outside of Ebbing, Missouri tonight.

That movie got robbed for best picture. Between it and Dunkirk they blew Shape of Water out of he water. I will never understand how Shape won.

Everything about Three Billboards was almost perfect. It’s peak cinema.

Best movie i’ve seen since Kill The Messenger. Loved everything about it.

I’ll have to check out that one.

But completely agree on Three Billboards. At the end I kept wanting a fade to black thinking, if this movie goes ten minutes longer it’s going to be ruined. Was extremely happy they ended it when and how they did.

The Departed could have been infinitely better if they ended the movie ten minutes earlier.

I have seen The Package. It is enjoyable but never felt the need to go out of my way to watch it again. If I see it on though I keep it on.

I agree on that. If they’d have cut Departed after the triple play murder at the warehouse that would have been pretty good. Love it regardless but...

Saboteur by Hitchcock.

Saboteur is a mid level Hitchcock film. Not one of his best. Not one of his worst. In the middle. Worth watching as there are some interesting things in there he'll use later in North By Northwest.

When it comes to Hitchcock, listen to Scoobs. He knows this sh* like the back of his hand, for real.

I've been on a phone call that's one Blazer short of an evil dodgeball team.

Just saying.

Also, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back will be streaming on Amazon Prime starting this month.

Ladies and gentlemen, Kathleen Turner

@BillSimmons: I plowed through this. Mid-80s Me had a massive massive crush on KT. You can make a case that...

1. Body Heat created the modern erotic thriller
2. KT was the most entertaining actress of the 1980s.
3. No actress in the past 50 years had a cooler/more distinctive voice.
