Re: Who is in your Deadpool for Solo: Infinity War

The modern generation:

Who is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar? Is he related to Paula Abdul?

And some might even ask if Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is related to Karim Abdul-Jabbar....I mean Abdul-Karim al-Jabbar, the former Dolphin. ;)

(yes, I have Karim AJ Dolphins jersey :D )

"No, thank you, I take it black, like my men."

The Clan:

Argentine movie based on a true story about the Puccio family, who made money from kidnapping and the ransoms that came from it. Pretty good movie, interesting to see how the family functioned given their activities.

That line has been relegated to the cutting room floor on network showings.

Really? That's such BS.

I've used that line as a prank in restaurants in the past (note: had to judge each situation to see if the server would get the joke).

Re: Who is in your Deadpool for Solo: Infinity War

Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back.

Repeat (I dunno how many times at this point). I needed to see this again. Part of the View Askewniverse series by Kevin Smith (Clerks, blah blah blah). For a first timer, don't bother, you'll miss the vast majority of the jokes. If you are young enough or clueless enough to not know what I'm talking about:

Clerks
Mallrats
Chasing Amy
Dogma (although not REALLY part of the Universe, despite 2 common characters)
Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back
Clerks II

The in-jokes are insane in JASBSB, hence the warning. And the cameos? Unreal (they had to turn requests down).

Watched Incredibles 2 last weekend. Fantastic movie, Brad Bird is phenomenal with animation (he did The Iron Giant as well as Pixar stuff). Edna and Jack-Jack steal the movie but I thought everyone was great. Also Sam Jackson as Frozone is still awesome.

1776 is an annual thing for my family on the Fourth. Have always loved the movie, especially William Daniels aka Mr. Feeny. The debate scene with Dickinson and Adams is a favorite as I swear it seems like a 30-45 minute scene uncut, just superb.

Re: Who is in your Deadpool for Solo: Infinity War

is there a reliable site to check when stuff will released for Netflix streaming service??

Re: Who is in your Deadpool for Solo: Infinity War

I knew about that scene. You can make fun of black people, but you can't fart on-screen. D'okay.

The jokes in Blazing Saddles weren't making fun of black people. The jokes were making fun of the white people cracking jokes about black people.

Re: Who is in your Deadpool for Solo: Infinity War

Yes, but that distinction is lost on this generation.

Bingo. Like the jokes in Borat. Same thing.

Act Of Valor:
An elite team of Navy SEALs embark on a covert mission to recover a kidnapped CIA agent.

Modern war movie, the big hook is active SEALS are used in the military leads.

You could tell. Outside military scenes, acting was wooden, thankfully that wasn't the point. The point was to see what these guys go through on a mission. The little things. That part worked. The ending was a bit dusty, I'll tell you that. Definitely worth a watch.

Act of Valor is great if you like tactical war porn.

It’s not so great if you want good writing, great acting, or any kind of Oscar

That's a better way of putting it. It's too real, from what I've heard. Sure, a LITTLE on the "good guys get less hurt" angle, but there's some serious sh* going on despite that.
