What's your favorite App? (iPhone, Droid, etc)

Re: What's your favorite App? (iPhone, Droid, etc)

This question doesn't fit the thread but I don't know where else to ask...

Is it possible to dl a DVD concert and then be able to play the audio via a burned CD or onto an mp3?

Short answer? Yes. Not 100% positive on what you would need, but I'm positive you can do it.

I finally care about this thread. I joined the 21st century on Tuesday when I picked up an Atrix. Love it so far.

Search for "DVD audio ripper" - there are several free rippers that you can download that will let you rip the audio to mp3.

Re: What's your favorite App? (iPhone, Droid, etc)

I located the conveniently titled, "DVD Audio Extractor" and it basically did what I needed, even if it's a bit clunky. I erred on my first dl by neglecting to select the format to save to (it defaulted to ogg) but after that it worked fine. You have to manually title each file but other than that it was seamless and I can now play these songs on my mp3 in the car.

Can't remember if I've promoted it here or not, but if not...

Atleast in the android market for sure, you can find PDAnet. It's a FREE tethering app so you can use your phone to tether your android to a laptop without rooting your droid or paying any tethering fees. Very useful, and did I mention free?

Do you have to load any software onto the laptop for it to work? I would use it with my work laptop and I wouldn't be able to load any software that isn't approved by IT. Given my recent dealings with the *****s in IT that will never happen.

Yes, unfortunately you do.

On the hunt for your recommendations for the following:

App for Beer journal/log/recommendations
App for keeping recipes
Do any of you do backups of your phone?

Just root the Droid...it takes no more than 10 minutes, you can get rid of the bloatware on the phone and you can tether without adding anything to the computer.

EODS,

Because I am rooted I fully backup my Evo everytime I change something. Why?

Btw: don't ever accidentally type and send an email to the wrong address on your iPhone. It will not go away from your auto fill. At all.
