U2 - 5/3/83 The US Festival in California

Great sounding radio/TV broadcast of a very ernest and young U2. Believe that Bono climbed the scaffolding about 6 stories during Electric Co. U2 played a mid afternoon set sandwiched between Quarterflash and Missing Persons. God, did the 80s suck...

EDIT: Found video of Electric Co.

Guess the band was ****ed at Bono for doing this and you can see them kind of avoiding him backstage after the song.

Saw Eddie Vedder do the something similar at Lalapalooza in St. Paul in 92 or 93, although he didn't go so high.

Hearing some great dub this morning...

Groundation - Dub Wars

Who's got my spliff... :)

The new Soundgarden single is pretty good. Basically picks up where they left off - kind of a 'proggy alt-rock' sound.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Ott - Blumenkraft

Dub/Electronica - sweet grooves... :)

Dana Fuchs, Love to Beg, it's some bluesy rock that I've been listening to a lot the past few months and even heavier the last week or so.

For those of you who saw the movie Across the Universe, she plays the role of Sadie.

New Mumford & Sons - Babel.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

alright, each time a band reunites I get excited for new material or the potential for it. pavement sucked as did the pixies, just regurgitating their past and milking us all for $ and nostalgia. jesus lizard kicked *** but offered nothing new...

Soundgarden? YES! new album and from the sounds of it they've got the Superunknown vibe going - http://www.soundgardenkinganimal.com/ - i'm very much into this!

Voivod...one of my all-time favorite metal bands. They'll never be the same w/out Denis D'amour but **** the new guitar player is pretty great - this sounds like a must have for thrash/metal fans - http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/14327-mechanical-mind/

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Widespread Panic - Live At Oak Mountain
Pixies - Trompe le Monde

"Jefrey, with one 'f' Jefrey..."

Not as good as their first CD, but that's because I'm very much an album snob. I tend to not think a band's second cd is as good as the first.

That's my initial response too, but I have found that it takes time. I like numerous sophomore efforts more than the first, but I didn't feel that way for the first few months or even years.

Grateful Dead - Europe '72

Most of the cats that you meet on the streets speak of true love,
Most of the time they're sittin and cryin at home.
One of these days they know they better get goin
Out of the door and down on the streets all alone.

Truckin, like the do-dah man. once told me youve got to play your hand
Sometimes your cards aint worth a dime, if you don't layem down
