Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Some new songs I've heard lately:

Take a Little Ride, Jason Aldean - Awesome song, as expected from Mr. Aldean. Upbeat and will get stuck in your head quickly. He just keeps putting out great songs, can't wait for his next CD to come out.
Cruise, Florida Georgia Line - This is some new group I haven't heard about before now, but I like the song. Another happy, upbeat song.
(Insert stupid name here), Taylor Swift - Her new song is brutally bad, horrible. There is no way that this song should be on country radio, get rid of it right now. This is a 100% pop song, with no redeeming qualities. At this point, throw TSwift in a dumpster with Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban and The Band Perry. Terrible.

R.E.M.- Automatic for the People.

Best R.E.M. album EVER.

Personally it would have to fight it out with Reckoning, New Adventures, Document, Out of Time and Life's Rich Pageant, but I don't begrudge the pick.

Is it strange that I've never heard New Adventures? But I'd put any of those others above Automatic easily. Reckoning's their best album, though.

Florence + the Machine's "Ceremonials."
"Lungs" is much better. "Ceremonials" feels like it's trying to be the grand, sweeping, epic tale of whatever. It's just trying to be big. "Lungs" is just a drunken chick tossing out her experiences and some inner turmoil, and does so in an entertaining, sometimes funny manner. Florence needs to get back to the drunken girl bit.

If you're a fan I'd recommend it, which I can't say about 2-3 of their last 5.

I love "Lungs" as well, and agree with the sentiment of your post. However, I am a music nerd and I love the progressions on the organ on "Ceremonials."

Sara Groves- "Conversations"

I'm not much into Christian music, but I could listen to this one all day.
