Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

hey guys, a quick recommendation (I think some of you will really enjoy this)...http://wearehex.bandcamp.com/track/birthplace-of-the-mystics

these guys/gal are from Indianapolis

if they had serious money behind them or were on a "hip" label they'd blow up somewhere between Liars and Radiohead IMO...honestly, I can't believe something this fantastic could be so underground but I'd guess their being from Indy certainly hurts their chances

Thanks to The Chive.

Then a certain Techie had to add this to the comments section:

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Saw "The Airborne Toxic Event" about 2 weeks agos and was very impressed. Bought both of their albums the next day and have been listening to them a lot since.

Today's ride home was this:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/30gD7E5y28w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Askfkq5w7Zs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And while this wasn't on the disc I listened to today, while searching Youtube, I came across this clip of the recording of a song from their previous album, which is just amazing.

Meat Puppets this morning, Dandy Warhols now.

Both discographies set to shuffle.

Great debut album by one of Metal's often overlooked bands.

Van Halen - Van Halen. Doesn't even require a mood.

I love listening to I, II, Diver & Women when I go on long rides. Did that on Saturday and it'll keep you going for sure!

Although I'm in pathetic biking shape right now...

Favorite radio song right now: I Can't Speak For You by The Right Now. Have not checked out their other stuff yet.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Following the "Influence Tree" forward...

Started with Big Star - #1 Record and Radio City

Now listening to Replacements - all of it on shuffle

Next up will be Whiskeytown, unless I get steered elsewhere...

Animals by pink Floyd. I cannot believe that I did not buy this CD years ago. Great stuff

That was the first Floyd album I owned and is still my favorite of their studio stuff.

Also, I remember going to the planetarium on campus with my girlfriend (wife now) to listen to that and see the stars, lazers, etc. VERY baked! :D

How to get through a Friday half day when the deck, pool and Rum Runners are waiting at home?

Kid Rock - all of it set on shuffle

Gotta keep the office door closed up tight!

"I don't like small cars or real big women, but somehow I always find myself in 'em" - might not go over too well with our portly HR manager... :D

Nice.

"10 seconds to love" by Motley Crue probably wouldn't be good for the office either. :)

She Sells Sanctuary cover by the Dandy Warhols and now Alice in Chains, The Smiths, The Replacements, Black Keys and Foo Fighters various on shuffle.
