We have a view of the mountains outside our window at the hotel

the shades only go up about 30% the height of the window basically giving us a view of the parking lot only.

What the fark?!

edit to add: this is a Hilton property. So I'm properly mystified.

Let the front desk know, especially if you paid a premium for a "Mountain View" room. I think that has to be worth a couple bucks credit on the bill at least...

Where are you?

This happened to us in Lake Louise at the Fairmont Chateau, and they upgraded us to a bridal suite no extra cost. Lovely.

Speaking from experience, that hotel knows its audience and will move mountains to placate guests of a certain credit rating.

Dx - With the exception of newer Hamptons and Hilton Garden Inns, and maybe the occasional Conrad or Curio Collection splurge, I'm about done with the rest of the brand. They seem to have no interest in investing money in maintaining and updating their many aging mainline properties, unless they are of historic significance. I wasn't sad to finally lose my Diamond status this past March.
