What's funny in a completely twisted sense of humor, cig smokers (myself included) won't touch the vaping things. Reason? We have no effing clue on what is in those. At least we sorta know what is in cigs. Yeah.

Bad news is that it's the same stuff - the formaldehyde to enhance the buzz, and other addicting crap.

Heating up liquid is apparently causing some different chemical change/effect in vaping. Who the hell knows what, though.

Either way, inhaling something that is basically on fire is bad for you. ;)

Re: What The Fark 5: I Can't Believe This Happened!

It’s a chemical burn. No heating necessary.

I’m guessing it’s the vapor condensing, concentrating, and damaging the tissue.

I shall take your word. Honest. A couple "traditional" smoker friends of mine have been discussing over the past year or two, and WE are "WTeff." We want no part of that.

Wow.

Unfortunately, Cornell’s application only asked whether we had any parents or grandparents who went there, so I was only able to list those 6 out of the 50-odd relatives I had with Cornell degrees (now approaching 70, with at least one relative enrolled in a degree program continuously since 1968). Not that it’s done Cornell that much good - we’ve mostly been farmers, veterinarians, and engineers, with no notable (in the grand scheme of things) gifts to the university and I would hardly say that we’ve added to the prestige.

Well, you are a cow college.

LOL

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Dennis Prager claims that men are growing beards now because "feminism and the Left have crapped on masculinity" and they need to say "hello, I'm not a female" <a href="https://t.co/e6MDgmhkPn">pic.twitter.com/e6MDgmhkPn</a></p>— Jason Campbell (@JasonSCampbell) <a href="https://twitter.com/JasonSCampbell/status/1182473290029453312?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 11, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I mean, who knew I decided to keep a beard just to own the libs?

Any facial hair I retain is because I'm lazy.

Cannot stress enough. Although I look better (relatively) with a beard than clean-shaven.

Re: What The Fark 5: I Can't Believe This Happened!

Our (part time) maid robbed us today. She took my wife's iPad with 5+ years of photos on it and my wife uses it for everything as she prefers it over using her phone. She stole my Galaxy (brand new), took cash from my wallet, both son's wallets and cash we had in a cabinet that we didn't think she would know about - in all about $275. Not insurmountable but still. On the bright side my kids had school today because of all the weather cancellations so they had their laptops with them and my laptop was at my office.

Unfortunately maids don't go through a service here it's all word of mouth. My wife had a picture of her State ID but alas it was on her iPad which was not backup up because her cloud account was overfilled (which she didn't tell me about). We know her name and have her on FB but no address and the police don't have a database here that stores information like that. The former maid of the neighbor that recommended her is not answering her phone.

I pinged my phone to an area not far from her that's full of markets - I locked it but that won't stop her from selling it for parts at the very least, same with the iPad. We have given this woman money, fed her every time she came to house, drove her around to help buy things like groceries, paid for her daily transportation to the house, bought her son (17) a tablet, gave him some of my clothes, welcomed her into our house and never once ever treated her like anything but a person. This is the most violated I've ever felt and my wife has been in tears all day. Not for the things we lost but for the same feelings of violation. I'm just effing sick to my stomach.

Ouch. That sucks Slap.

Wonder what caused them to flip, what seems like out of the blue. Desperate people do desperate things.
