Re: What the Fark 3: The Strange and Unusual

From the weekly "News of the Weird":

What the ... Is 'noise anxieties' a real thing?

You know how cats and dogs will jump at loud, sudden noises? Some youngsters do the same. Instead of working through the issue, like would have been expected of them 20 years ago, Australia is now coddling them so they retain their issues well into their teenage or even adult years.

Taken from a vendor's email received by me just a few minutes ago...

...will also be adding the [field name] to the Cumulative Eligible Trade (CUM) Report....

They had to have known what they were doing there.

I named the key indexing field in my work database NWA.

It stands for Network Activity.

Pilot error.

When manually entering the coordinates of the plane's position, the pilot incorrectly entered the longitude from a sign outside the cockpit window as 01519.8 east (15 degrees 19.8 minutes east) instead of 15109.8 east (151 degrees 9.8 minutes east), the report said.

"This resulted in a positional error in excess of 11,000 kilometers (6,835 miles), which adversely affected the aircraft's navigation systems and some alerting systems," the report said.

Re: What the Fark 3: The Strange and Unusual

Having recently applied for a marriage license in Michigan, I can tell you on no part of the application did it say I couldn't marry my mother, or daughter or sister. There were plenty of rules about "A woman may not marry a man who..." and then a list of male relations. I couldn't marry my brother, my father, my step father. The list was long and had some weird ones, but no where did it restrict what females I could marry.
Either the state of Michigan needs to update the application now that gay marriage is legal, or maybe the state doesn't care about incest that can't result in biological offspring.
