The choice of the name of the event, V-Day, had a threefold reference: the first to the landing operation (D-Day) of the Allies in Normandy during World War II, to symbolise how Italian citizens would "invade" bad policy; the second to the motion picture "V for Vendetta" (whose symbol is also referred to in the logo of the movement) which the movement refers to often with its principles of political renewal; the third to the interjection "F-ck you" given to bad policy.

The local news station likes to show panorama shots of a city with talk in the background for half a minute or so before they go to commercial break. this morning, there was a fly on the camera lens for several seconds.

A former United Nations big who was awaiting trial on fraud charges died in a freak weightlifting accident, officials said Thursday.

John Ashe died Wednesday from “traumatic asphyxia with laryngeal cartilage fractures” after dropping a barbell on his neck, a rep for the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s office told the Daily News.
