Re: What the Fark 3: The Strange and Unusual

This is probably the greatest site n the internet.

From the About:

The Rapture Index has two functions: one is to factor together a number of related end time components into a cohesive indicator, and the other is to standardize those components to eliminate the wide variance that currently exists with prophecy reporting.

The Rapture Index is by no means meant to predict the rapture, however, the index is designed to measure the type of activity that could act as a precursor to the rapture.

You could say the Rapture index is a Dow Jones Industrial Average of end time activity, but I think it would be better if you viewed it as prophetic speedometer. The higher the number, the faster we're moving towards the occurrence of pre-tribulation rapture.

Unsure which sign of apocalypse this is.

Cruz, his face a mess of Fieri’s donkey love sauce... slammed his throbbing American flagpole—his horrible, horrible, horrible throbbing American flagpole, against Fieri’s prone and rippling flanks.

This is the kind of crap I expect from Salon or the DUmmies. Not The Onion's AV Club. Good god.

The sad/gross part is, we're one permutation away from a Fieri-Bourdain pairing. Those two have a love-hate "you're not my bro, bro" relationship that is made for cringeworthy Internet fanfic crap. And in accordance with Rule 34, it's already out there, somewhere. *shudder*

When finding success in sports to be difficult, just change your gender. http://www.thecollegefix.com/post/27734/

There are a few NCAA athletes competing in other than their birth gender. The NCAA has some very specific rules when a person can compete after crossing over. Most HS do not. Here are a couple of articles on HS TG athletics. There is a longer article somewhere on the NFHS site that goes into much greater detail.

Yeah, knucks' not accepting people's gender identification is about fairness, eh?

You guys haven't been this butt hurt since blacks got into boxing and beat all the whites up.

But don't cry, there's always Med School. Oh, sh-t, Jews! Politics? Drat! Thanks, Obama!

Gotta be something where dumb, undersized white Christian males can still feel like champions...

You're acting as if he's not just trolling.

Hint: this isn't about sports, it's about bigotry.

Theory vs. reality

It is a concern because most of the state legislatures and athletic boards (plus national governing bodies) have not addressed the issue. And there has not been a national discussion (not a "I'm right and you're wrong, you bigot!) of the issues surrounding TG participation in youth and HS sports.

Until the parties sit down and come up with a coherent policy, people will have concerns and some people will be uncomfortable. They're not bigots. You could call them ignorant, or people who don't want a policy rammed into place without input. Bigotry in this case is, IMO (and you & I will disagree) too strong a word.

If a TG student wants to play in the HS hockey league I run, we'd welcome them. We'd probably give them the option of their own dressing room (as we do for girls who play on boy's teams per USA Hockey guidelines) if they or their parents insist. I view that as a reasonable accommodation. I'm not sure what the local youth hockey league would do if a birth gender male who has decided she's a female wanted to play on a girl's team.

But in the finals he got beat by a girl! :D

< ducks, runs for cover >

OK now that's a good one-up. Heck of a lot better than the Cornell grad that was taught in college to be politically butthurt 24/7. Probably had that class right after 120-decibel whining 101.
