What and or whatever was a surprise to you this season

Re: What and or whatever was a surprise to you this season

The biggest surprise for me was Middlebury failing to go to the NCAA's and win the NCAA tournament

Re: What and or whatever was a surprise to you this season

The NCAA doing the right thing by bumping L25 down to a secondary criterion.

Re: What and or whatever was a surprise to you this season

The apparent hope of a 12 team tournament, despite all the rumblings of no expansion.

Re: What and or whatever was a surprise to you this season

I was surprised at the number of people complaining of the size of the ice sheet for the final four. I am sure you heard NO complaints from the skaters. I am sure they were excited to play on the ice where Miracles happen !

I'll bite. Next year at the Frozen Four maybe they should play with balls instead of pucks. Or maybe everyone should have to play with the opposite handed stick. Of course they would never do that. You play the entire season under a certain set of circumstances, so why change things up needlessly for literally the three most important games of the year?

Some schools play on olympic sized ice.

I know Southern Maine and Skidmore do off the top of my head. Middlebury is 95 wide and Norwich is 90.

Are there any other olympic sheets used by any men's teams?

I was more surprised at the apparent lack of defense, and defensive lapses from some of the best defensive teams in the nation.

When St Norbert gives up 12 in 2 games, having averaged 1.68 GAA throughout the season, and Genny gives up twice their average, something isn't right. Or UWSP is just that good?

For whatever reason, SNC did not adapt well to the big sheet this year (unlike our previous visits..two of four ntl titles came at Placid)..Point came in well tested with wins in their conference tournie and over a very good Adrian team.....their fast forward group really took to the big sheet and dominated both games...

well said, its the same for both teams, but just doesnt seem right.

Re: What and or whatever was a surprise to you this season

Geneseo plays on one of the smallest ice surfaces in the country. Another day of practice on the olympic ice might have been helpful.

I think ST. Norbert was able to practice on the big sheet for a week b4 FF,may be in the same complex where they play?? I am sure other will know about that.

The Cornerstone has an olympic ice sheet, so they were able to practice on it leading up to the Frozen Four. Still only a couple of days at most.

Technically can't they practice there all the time if they wanted to since that's where the women play?

Also, the week they play Marian they probably practice there...no?
