Westworld (WITH SPOILERS!!)

Re: Westworld (WITH SPOILERS!!)

Ok, so it seems unlikely that Theresa is going to come back as a bot, given they were showing off her dead body, unless, of course, everyone to whom they were showing her body is also a bot, in which case their memories can just be reprogrammed.

At the end of the show it's going to be interesting to see how many real people there are. Right now I feel good about Ford and the MiB, pretty good about William and Charlotte Hale. Beyond that, not so sure.

Edit: I guess I should amend that by adding the recently departed Theresa and apparently departed Elsie.

The thing about Elsie is that she's not been found, and Ford is making another bot (he's calling them hosts, so I guess it actually is the term to use). Add to that, it appears to be a female host, or that could just be my expectation based upon surrounding events. Regardless, it's clear that the memory wipe process is deficient. Bernard showed indications that his memory wipe didn't completely wipe out his experiences since Theresa's death, let alone Elsie's.

Now this Wyatt character, I want to see him. Something tells me that he's more than a simple host, though I don't expect him to be a human. I like the use of the minotaur as the host that first shows up to protect the maze; it made for a nice Hellenistic reference.

Re: Westworld (WITH SPOILERS!!)

How is there no discussion of whats going with Dolores? I she just remembering a timeline with William while existing in the present or are we actually see some past events with her?

I just figured that her data wipes have either not been able to fully remove the old church from her HHD, and she's having flashbacks while in the town with William. Or someone is replanting those data files into her HHD so as to lead her towards solving the maze. Perhaps someone coordinated this with Albert long ago, and tiny fragments of data keep coming back over time, a Trojan Horse attack of sorts.

ETA: I meant HDD. HHD is a work acronym that I hope doesn't mean something very bad to the rest of the internet.

Also, if we're thinking that Theresa's replacement was being made by Ford in his secret lab, that leads to the question, did he do the same thing with Arnold? If so, who is Arnold? Bernard?
Get that man a prize!

They're looking for Elsie, but didn't show Elsie's body in the park. What's up wit dat, yo?

Only one episode left. At this point, I don't know what I want to see answered other than Elsie's condition. A few loose strings are left to tie up, but I hardly expect the Board to sell off its Host tech and close the park - we wouldn't get too many more seasons if that were to happen!

Re: Westworld (WITH SPOILERS!!)

I think Elsie is cooked at the hands of Bernard, but given the twists they've had all season long I would not be surprised she's still alive.

Maybe she is who Ford is constructing.,.

Or he's making a new Bernard clone named Charles. Because if they couldn't recognize Bernard as Arnold, I'm doubting they'd recognize a new one as different.

Plus it would explain why he let Bernard kill himself rather than just resetting him.

to be fair on the recognize thing, I doubt anyone has been involved long enough to know Arnold, and it's not like there are pictures of him everywhere.

Re: Westworld (WITH SPOILERS!!)

Bernard also *died* in a remote basement location that only a privileged few can access in the company, based upon what we saw in one of the first few episodes. There's no reason to introduce a new Bernard as anyone named other than Bernard. The differences that Ford wanted to see in Bernard weren't so much in overt personality characteristics, and therefore the chances are slim that anyone would notice a different in the *man*.

It could be a new Bernard, but Bernard mentioned when he and Teresa found the room that machine takes (a couple?) weeks compared to their newer machines and Elsie happen to be on leave for an extended period...idk

Re: Westworld (WITH SPOILERS!!)

Whatever happens the series to date has been a wonderful treat. I never did BB, Sopranos (after S3), Lost (after S1), 24, TWD nor GoT so this is one my rare 'fanboy' indulgences.

Did I catch that Teresa was a bot in this past episode? Was that the first time we've seen a hint at that? Didn't Bernard freeze her at one point?

If that was revealed in episode 9, then I missed it entirely. Her body was found in the park, and I thought her only appearance/mention was Bernard remembering his killer her.

Dolores is on about 3 timelines. Current, with William about 30 years before current, and pre-opening of the park about 35 years before current.

Yep. They did reveal that. Bernard froze her in one of his flashbacks. She was definitely a host too.

Re: Westworld (WITH SPOILERS!!)

Also, they essentially revealed/confirmed that either William or Logan is definitely the Man In Black. There were about 4 confirmations during episode 9.
