Western Michigan Season Thread 2009-10

We've swept two series in a row. One on the road even. :eek: I guess this home and home against Sparty will give some answers on if Western should be paid attention to this season. So, anyone want some Kool-Aid?

Whoever doubted that your blueliners would be good this year has been answered in spades. Man.

Kuhn and Gill both looked good, too.

If they actually make it to the Joe for the first time in many, many years, I might take them seriously. Anything short of that is just the same old.

I'm liking what I've heard, so far (I've listened to 3 of 4 games).

I hope the excitement continues...go Broncos!

Oh, and I've moved closer to Lawson again...just across the lake and north a bit (Milwaukee). Maybe I'll see some former Broncos at the Bradley? :)

It's been a long time since we've avoided the embarrassing loss (or sweep) against a CHA or AH team so forgive me. It's almost like we're a real CCHA team this season.

I'm afraid I don't get the Gazette since I've moved out of the area, but back to back one goal games is something we haven't seen in Kalamazoo in a really long time. If the defense is actually competent then Western might actually be worth watching this season.

Yeah, I'm testing out the new (to me) quoting feature. But seriously, is the defense really looking that good or is it just UAH making us look competent?

Seems nothing has changed. WMU gets another goal waived off, then lose the second game too. Ho-hum. So when is Culhane's contract up again?

Just needed to mention to Moe that his last few blog entries have been very good. Also to mention that it's a shame that Gill (aside from this offensive explosion against ND) is stuck on a team that couldn't score in a whore-house.

Hey, all-- I started a series thread for our battle of the directional schools, and it would be nice to see you guys posting in there, too. Last weekend against Ferris it was just us and that gets old.

It took me days to surface after Poulin was fired (three day drunk. Had to celebrate appropriately). I hope this means that in addition to finding a better coach to put behind the bench, WMU realizes there is potential for this team to become relevant in the CCHA. Not to dance on a man's failure, but congrats to the Western posters. You guys deserve something to get excited about.
