Nope, the Wild Card round is not considered the playoffs. That's only one game to get in the playoffs.
Weird. Do they count the game in the regular season stats? If not, then it's a playoff game.

Just how bad was the ice there?St. Cloud looked like garbage. Players constantly falling down. Awful passing. Missing the net. North Dakota clearly the better team but i dont like their chances against a Boston team that has shown they can put the puck in the net, unlike SCSU.

Uh, FROM A PURIST'S POINT OF VIEW, son. Not mine. Show me YOUR PhD then you might see mine. Arggh.
So you're one of those guys who thinks we should go back to two dozen coaches sitting in a dark room, ordering Chinese food, and figuring out ways to give the Gophers a #1 seed? Get the net.
If we were in about 1999, the Gophers would have received a bye to the Regional Finals thanks to the Clarkson Rule.
I agree. Great atmosphere all weekend and heard nothing but good things from everyone. Hope they host again soon.Did you pass 6th?
That's for the insightful Dtown mutts. It was a wonderful event, Fargo did a great job and deserves many accolades and congratulations, and should be considered again to host a regional.
Go Spirithawks!

It was a good atmosphere and well run. It is tough to deny the ice condition was sub par...
Simple bonehead math. Letting in half the teams is about $$$. Me thinks is actually Methinks, dumb either way. Doth protest sounds like a biblical cliche, jeez. Game, set, on computer too much, Brent. I believe your team will learn a lesson tonight.
We'll see. By the way, the regular season in most sports continues to get watered down. It's all about the playoffs.
Example: MLB: Used to be the two pennant winners, now, 4 teams from EACH league. Other examples can be looked up. I actually think the NCAA has done pretty well to keep the number for NCAA hockey at 16 (so far). I'm not against more teams but think the top ones should have a better shake from the regular season.

I smiled upon reading that.... Krach is actually the way to go, not smoke and mirrors and cigars in a dark room, obviously. And yes, St. Cloud did *deserve* to be in the regional based on statistics. A purist would dump them based on their record, was my point. Purists and idealists get eaten alive in the world today ... I just wonder how many more patches and bandages will be applied to Pairwise before it is properly and finally retired.
+You realize you just said the exact opposite of what you said earlier in the paragraph, right? You wanna go by KRACH, not smoke-filled rooms. Yet a purist would dump SCSU. You realize that the only way to dump a team 9th in KRACH would be smoke-filled rooms where people put their own opinion over numbers.

I believe you misread his post. He agrees with you. He is not saying purist=KRACH. He is not saying he is a purist. He is saying KRACH is the way to go and SCSU makes it!
Not using this an excuse, because UND would have a home game anyway, but I think this year has proved neutral sites with host team placement is a joke. Give the #1 seeds the regionals.
