  • The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways. Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar. We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.

We're back

I am not very smart. Where do I set options? I have to invert the order and see last first or I'm going to hurt myself or others.
I love the new format but I need to tweak.

I don't know that there's a way to do that, but someone may have published an add-on that can make that happen.

I think my only complaint is on mobile a thread with multiple pages only has page buttons on the bottom.

Well, two complaints. The second is that it's too efficient! The jump to last actually goes to the last post. I didn't realize how much of a habit I had scrolling down immediately since the old one would usually just load to the top of the last page.

Once you've visited a thread, next time you click on the thread title, it will take you to the first new post since you were last on.

There are. I have to figure out how to turn them on. We couldn't import them from vBulletin because there were so many it added several hours to the import.
I would happy if we could start afresh. That is, if new threads could have tags added.

I just started a game thread for this evening and wanted to add the usual tags.

And seriously, if they disappear completely, it wouldn't be a big loss.

I'm just so thrilled and shocked you were able to save the old threads. I can't even imagine the time commitment. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm very appreciative.
I ran four dry runs. The first took 18 hours. I figured out that I could multithread the command line importer and it got down to three hours. The final import took two because I had all the steps on a checklist. I didn’t want to lose the old threads. If it had come to it, we would have kept the old server open with posting turned off as an archive.

The developers of xenForo did an outstanding job on the importer. The admin area is really well organized.

The web server, OpenLiteSpeed, has a xenForo caching plugin that optimizes the memory cache.

Keeping my fingers crossed for game night. I’m on a plane to Air Force to broadcast RIT and won’t be able to watch it.

I found the place to turn them on, so you should see a tag icon at the top underneath the thread title.
