" Rewarding bad behavior" by borrowing to further your education is just like rewarding bad behavior by borrowing to buy a house.

Its an investment in your future.

You are right. I once raced outside during a blizzard to shovel my sidewalk and my conservative friend staying with me just gaped and said, he was surprised I cared. I told him that elderly people amd kids walked here every day because you know, we live in a city and he just laughed and said he’d never care about that.

the worst part is all these fuckers have gladly taken their handouts because those are fine
“Republicans would gladly let Donald Trump s- in their mouth if it meant a liberal had to smell it.”

I just don’t get it. I had to pay off all my undergrad Loans. That’s fine. I wasn’t screwed over like recent kids have been.

i also get zero relief on my graduate loans, and that’s the right answer.

jesus fuck how hard is it to not want others less fortunate to suffer?

It's the classic Trolley Dilemma, except in this case the trolley has already run over a bunch of people so would it be fair to them to stop it from running over more people?

“Republicans would gladly let Donald Trump s- in their mouth if it meant a liberal had to smell it.”

Oh, and Trump would brag about it.

"A strong man came up to me, tough kind of a guy, and said: ‘I want to thank you, Mr. President, for shitting in my mouth.’ And he had tears coming down his eyes."

Some student loan plan critics went to college for less than $400.

Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell called Biden’s loan forgiveness plan “student loan socialism” and said it was a “slap in the face to every family who sacrificed to save for college.” But when McConnell graduated from the University of Louisville in 1964, annual tuition cost $330 (or roughly $2,500 when adjusted for inflation); today, it costs more than $12,000, a 380% increase. When House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who called the policy a “debt transfer scam,” graduated from California State University, Bakersfield in 1989, tuition was less than $800; today, it’s more than $7,500, a 400% increase when adjusted for inflation. Nevada Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, a moderate Democrat who is running for re-election this year, told Axios she disagreed with the policy because “it doesn’t address the root problems” of college affordability; when Cortez Masto graduated from the University of Nevada in 1986, tuition was a little more than $1,000— today, it’s roughly three times as expensive.

And don’t forget Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, who called the policy “UNFAIR” on Twitter. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1955, when annual tuition cost roughly $159, or between $40 and $53 per quarter. Today, it costs more than $8,300, a nearly 500% increase even when adjusted for inflation.

The White House Twitter account is now responding to every GOPer who whines about student loan debt relief by telling the world how much they had in forgiven PPP loans. Expert trolling!

https://twitter.com/WhiteHouse/statu...16200866267138

edit: Biden is now at 44% in the latest Gallup poll...

The bigger question: What were these people getting PPP loans for?

And why were these "loans" forgiven? What was the reason behind the government forgiving all these loans to wealthy people?

Whats the loan forgiveness going to cost?

Think I read there are 44,000,000 student loan borrowers. Not all will be eligible, not all will get the full amount, and not all would've been paid off in full anyway due to death, other forgiveness programs, etc.

So the high end would $440B. I think the estimate is around $300B.

By comparison, Trump's tax cuts for the rich cost $2.3 trillion.

The thing that really PO's me about the conservative response

Should be nothing, because nothing they say matters. Nothing any conservative thinks, says, or writes will matter again in our lifetime. That is what they earned by having their little pity party and voting in Dump.

No right winger matters anymore. Their words are literally meaningless. They are a nullity.

They are not Americans.
