The main point I'm seeing from DERPs in my circle is that they are jealous basically. They have all made comments about wanting $10k taken off their mortgage, car/truck payment, etc.
The amount of right wingers complaining on Twitter then having a reply from someone showing their PPP loan amounts being forgiven is too many for me to count.

PPP was a gift not sure why it is referred to as a loan.
So the 125,000 dollar amount, is that this years income or last years income?

Also included

Proposes a new income-based repayment plan which caps payments at 5% of discretionary income (down from the current 10%).

New IBR plan covers monthly interest so long as payments are made on time, meaning the loan would not grow due to interest even if the payment is $0.

New IBR plan forgives loan balances of $12,000 or less after 10 years instead of 20.

Screw everything else, these three points are by far the most impactful.

Gee, you had people that gave you $350/month for every kid you had. The party you support did away with that, and you want to elect more of them, and throw out the people who gave you the $350.

People have literally no idea how much of the federal budget is for subsidies, forgiveness, and cost offsets.

I just want to punch everyone in the face who is complaining about this. But too busy celebrating the big win.

Lots of good comebacks today on twitter for all the Rs whining who themselves had entire ppp loans forgiven.

but my fav was the dumbass Iowa house candidate who immediately got tons of replies on how none of us agreed to pay for Iowa farm subsidies, but here we are

Who gives a sh*t how, the 10k is gone.

Yup... Selfishness in a nutshell.

The government can't spend any money unless I benefit from it. That's the jist of what I see.

"We need to stop giving money to Ukraine and start giving money to Americans!"
"Ok"
"No! Not those Americans!"

I just don’t get it. I had to pay off all my undergrad Loans. That’s fine. I wasn’t screwed over like recent kids have been.

i also get zero relief on my graduate loans, and that’s the right answer.

jesus fuck how hard is it to not want others less fortunate to suffer?

It's a lack of empathy with people on the right. That's all I can come up with.

People feel that they managed to pay off their debt so everyone else should be able to. If you can't, you're seen as a dumbass. They are unaware of how things have changed in the past 20 years (the 45-60 year old, Gen-X R's seem to REALLY be worked up over this) and they view the common problems of Millenials as their own doing (see "$7 Starbucks/Avacado Toast/Tattos).

It's a total detachment from reality for them.

You are right. I once raced outside during a blizzard to shovel my sidewalk and my conservative friend staying with me just gaped and said, he was surprised I cared. I told him that elderly people amd kids walked here every day because you know, we live in a city and he just laughed and said he’d never care about that.

the worst part is all these fuckers have gladly taken their handouts because those are fine

No one seems to care when we give handouts to billionaire's. And the handouts continue to this day despite Democrats being in charge. Fuck the Republicans.

I just hope the student loan forgiveness survives the inevitable court challenge by a personally aggrieved student loan servicer.

The thing that really PO’s me about the conservative response of “rewarding bad behavior” is the fact that most college students take out student loans under serious parental pressure and duress. I know my decision was basically my mom saying “you have to go to college, this will help pay for it, sign here.”

John Mulaney’s college rant is stunningly relevant here. “Sign here and you’ll be an English major…”
