Welcome Back to the WCHA Northern Michigan

Re: Welcome Back to the WCHA Northern Michigan

I doubt the crowds at the X will be more than 10,000. why does tha tmake sense for the X to do if htye won't make any money?

I agree, maybe the championship game will pull in around 6,000-8,000 but even that is hard to fathom. In all reality who is going to show up for the Friday afternoon game featuring Tech and Mankato? If that game reels in more than 2,000 fans I would be . That tournament is going to look like a three game Marlins v Pirates series in Florida.

If its their first appearance in the new WCHA, EVERY Tech fan will show up just because they've been waiting so **** long. My question is what do they name it? Final Four is taken. How about the Forgotten Four? The words/phrases Abandoned, Deserted, Left Behind all work but I can't find any good alliteraton for any of them.

If that's true, we're going to need to outfit the Metrodome to support the 60,000 alumni base.

The good news for Tech is that the band is already there, they haven't left since the last time the Huskies qualified for the tournament. I'm sure they could fit "Irrelevant" somewhere into the new tournament name ;).

Forsaken Four?

And UAA, SCSU, and Mankato.

Four of the six WCHA rinks in 2013 will be Olympic sized. If they can be the "National Collegiate Hockey Conference," I demand the WCHA change it's name to the "Olympic Collegiate Hockey Conference."

I can just see the marketing: "We're BIGGER than B1G!"
OCHA. Wide Open Hockey.

My apologies for crashing the party, but does NMU know who their exhibition opponent will be on October 2nd?

As far as I can tell, they start at Wisconsin the following week. No exhibition warmup this year.

Re: Welcome Back to the WCHA Northern Michigan

See, UND is obviously misunderstood. How can they be hostile and abusive when pink is a school color? Now run home before your wife hitches up and drives it away.
Haha, now thats rich...a north dakota fan talking about my house having wheels? priceless.

I'm pretty sure the NCHC bought every resident of North Dakota a paddle wheel to attach to their mobile homes.
