Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

If we had 7 tries in a series, I bet we could win at least one. :p

One problem, you need to get there first. Heck, you barely make the wild card equivalent. Keep trying, scooter. Your team does, so you might as well put in the effort, too.

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

In the replay I thought it was kind of odd that Wehr moved around some after the hit then laid motionless for a while. Was he injured or just sort of playing possum to try to draw more penalty minutes?
Don't be stupid. Bina moved a little bit after the Paukovich hit. Doesn't mean anything.

Haven't you had 8 tries?

So you guys getting eliminated is like a couple years ago when the Yankees didn't make it...everyone's happy.

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

It's not our fault people don't want to live in that hell hole to the west. :p

Furthermore, MN has plenty of smaller cities producing talented players. Ever hear of Roseau or Warroad? The latter has an arena that seats as many people as live in the entire city for *'s sakes.

If it's all about population, Fargo should have produced far more D-I players than it has. Yet MN towns a fraction of its size have produced far more. You're simply ignoring the fact that ND is pretty much a basketball state.

Yes, I have heard of Warroad and Roseau and they are pretty extreme examples to use since no other town in MN that size even comes close to competing with them in terms of player development. In fact, I grew up near there and we played them regularly and beat them often. My junior year Roseau won the MN Statement tournament back when there was still a one class tourney in MN. Their only loss on the year was to Grand Forks Red River from ND. The bottom line is there are simply a helluva lot more people playing hockey in MN than in ND. Big deal. Everybody acknowledges that. The bottom line is there are good players in other places too. My teams usually beat up on most MN teams we played fairly regularly and I have played hockey with a whole lot of players from MN that are mediocre at best so to me it seems to be largely due to numbers. If want to believe that minnesotans are simply just amazing because of where they are geographically located feel free.

Considering the posts I've seen, then yes.

And I'm fine with that. You can't be perfect all of the time.

Shouldn't have been any sort of shocker that the Gopher season would end this weekend. With support like this from the Mps media who needs enemies.

Let the whining begin.
This series mirrored the Gophers' conflicting persona of 2009-10 — one step forward, two steps back.

Only Alaska-Anchorage and Michigan Tech averaged fewer goals per game in the WCHA than the Gophers' 2.72.

It will be up to the class of 2011 and beyond to erase the blight of 2009-10 and halt the program's backslide into mediocrity.

BACKSLIDERS! Now that is just mean spirited. :D

I bet you were not playing the likes of Edina on a nightly basis?

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

Could you please conduct a symposium for the ignoramii in your fanbase who continue to insist it wasn't that bad and would be a travesty if he's suspended for the hit? :p
I may have missed it, but isn't it only ExRiders19 that would call it a travesty?

Well, said PCM, and well said by tDon as well.

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

It's buried back a few pages in the thread, but I definitely recall reading a moronic tidbit from socalsiouxfan claiming Wehrs was acting because he moved after the hit and then decided to lay there to encourage a major penalty call from the ref.

Must've been a hell of an acting job to draw the major AND not see another minute of icetime in the game.

Ah, forgot about that one. Yeah, one of the dumbest things posted by either...and that's saying a lot.
