WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

If the league doesn't get tougher, the behavior will never stop. If players can look at history and decide that player A only got one game so I can play like a dirty punk and one game will be worth it. If players see consequences escalate, they may think twice before pulling a Frattin. Besides you as a sue fan being scared of losing him for the F5, why should he get to play next weekend? Or...are you going to remind me that UAH is in the post season?

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

No, you can't suspend guys everytime there is an illegal hit. Thats what major penalties are for, and thats what game DQs are for (whcih he probably should have got). Plus when the WCHA suspends Marvin one game for his hit, which was 10 times worse, they set the bar.

Intent to injure hits they can which clearly it was.

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

Good series, Gophers. Played a good game yesterday bringing it to three games. See you later this fall.

To all the good UMN fans: I would rather both the Sioux & Gophers were at the F5, just makes it more fun. I still hope to see some of you later this week/weekend. :)

3-2-2 against the worst Gopher team in 32 years.

The Gophers certainly played UND well this year. I think they are pretty evenly matched for the most part...it's just that UMN is so inconsistent. They could look like world-beaters one day (last UW game) and then complete crap the next game (Fri night at REA).

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

Did you have a slap down with MNS?

Naw, we cool. We called the game straight (even HE said a game + DQ for Frattin, and he said that immediately), and we're respectful about the Man's Sports Code about trash-talking, Mourning Period After A Loss, etc.

And honestly, good luck Sioux. You're gonna do just fine in the tourney(s).

Ditto.

And we will see each other, fo' sho'.

Yeah they probably could and should get tougher and its too bad they didn't earlier this year. And I think to label Frattin a dirty player or a cheap shot artist like I have heard or seen is a little unfair. Its not like he has a reputation around the league for doing things like this.

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

Goon u probably have 45 posts on your blog dedicated to marvin... Something tells me u won't post a word about frattin... Thus u are a dbag with green glasses!

Rink Pig, I will talk slow so you can understand, I was watching the game, my daughter called for my attention, I actually missed the hit in question, on my way back to the living room my buddy from Minnesota called me, I had to actually back the DVR to watch the hit because I didn not see it live... I never said I condoned the hit. It still doesn’t think it rises to the level of the Marvin hit on Genoway. This was a text book charging call. If you go back and watch the video you will see that Frattin and wehrs hit head to head. Frattin didn’t have his elbow up or his stick. I didn’t know that Frattin stayed in the game till I saw him back on the ice after the penalty. In fact I had to ask my buddy that I was talking to on the phone. I thought he had been thrown out of the game.

Like I said before I would be surprised if Frattin was suspended by the league, if he is it will be for one game. The Precedence has already been set. And back at you d*uche bag.

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

I posted this on SS also. Charging ...... ok.....

Frattins arms hands down. Wehrs and Frattin almost hit head to head. Frattins skates on the ground till impact. Wehrs goes down feet first sending Frattin up in the air.

That was a dirty hit, he should have been kicked out, and I expect nothing more or less than a 1 game suspension.

Sidenotes: if it's 2 games, I'd think it's unfair, but I would not be surprised, and this is due to the comments about the 2nd Marvin hit (point of emphasis, etc). If it's 0 games, I'd be shocked (and PO'd) because of the type of hit it was.

If he didn't lift his arms at the end of the hit, and didn't leave his feet, that would have been a BEAUTY of a check (see: the hit by Blood[?] that happend seconds before the Frattin hit in the opposite corner).

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

Where do these clowns think he will get three games come from?

Apparently Tony Lucia hit a fan with his stick according to someone over at Sioux sports. Again the league isn't going to give him three games. McLeod has basically said as much...

Here's the kicker about intent to injure. Almost everytime you hit a guy, you're trying to injure him. Ther are obviously you're checks to get guys off the puck but the ones where you line somebody up, you're hoping they hit the ice and stay down. Every time. When you run a guy from behind or cross check him to the head or spear him in the neck, thats a punishable intent to injure. This doesn't fall into that category.

Wow. Uh...wow. No.

You're trying to give him a little pain, sure, but not injure. There is a difference. Slight, technical. But a difference.

Re: WCHA First Round: MN @ UND

Neither did Geoff Paukovich. But both got a reputation pretty fast.

I don't know if I would comapre these two. Based on the frame just posted it doesn't look quite as bad as cross checking a guy head first into the boards from 3 feet and breaking his neck.
