Wcha 24 25

Well, someone had those small shot bottles at Ridder this weekend. I found several in the mens room that apparently needed to be gulped in private.
LOL, welp. Ridder Security wouldn't care as long as you're discrete. Put a sign adjacent to the glass or your foot on the boards and they send in the SWAT team.

Wisconsin should bid to hold the playoff finals in Madison. If it can be in Duluth it can be in Madison one would think.
LaBahn isn't made for tournament hockey. And you'd have to offer half, at least, of your seats to us visitors.

And yet, they managed to hold a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP tournament there.

smh...

As far as "you'd have to offer half, at least, of your seats to us visitors": if I go to the UW web site right now looking for tickets for the WCHA final four, they only refer me to the Duluth ticket office and web site. And without any sort of 'code' etc. that would identify me as a "visitor" from a participating school. That is, there's no reserved block of seats for "visitors", at all.

I bet there would be for a Frozen Four!!

I am also a season ticket holder for Wisconsin women's volleyball.

During the NCAA volleyball tournament, the first two of the three weeks the matches are held at 'campus sites'. The first weekend the top 16 seeded teams host three other schools. And the second weekend, the top four remaining seeds host three schools. Unlike this weekend's WCHA final four, there are blocs of seats reserved for fans (friend and family) of those participating schools. But far from your "at least half", those blocs are maybe 100 seats per school.

As for NCAA WH Final Fours, I've been to three. I do not recall there being any bloc of tickets set aside for fans or season ticket holders of the participating schools. If Wisconsin makes the Final Four this year, we can check if such a bloc is offered this year.

As I pointed out earlier, the number of tickets sold last year at Ridder - including for a Wisconsin-Minnesota semi-final - was less than the capacity of LaBahn.

My first Frozen Four was when Wisconsin played Minnesota at the old Mariucci Arena, 2006. The weather was comfortable for March so I wore a red jacket which was the only light jacket suitable for both the outside and in the arena. When I went up to the ticket booth, the student eyed my jacket and, yes, seated me among the dedicated Wisconsin section. I recall the Badgers winning 3 - 0. I didn't contribute to the cheering however.

I'm rather shocked you own any clothing that is red. The only maroon in my wardrobe is in one of my ties and I have a Mustang shirt that the base color is maroon. I did not pick this out for myself, it was a gift.

In your nightmares you are wearing a Gopher jersey with Kessel on the back. Visualize that!

Contrary to many fans, I hold nothing against specific teams. I feel that the best team wins each season and applaud the winners, whoever they are. I expect Wisconsin to continue to dominate the rest of this season, and look forward to following individual careers after they graduate.
It is true that there is no red in my wardrobe now, however.

Amsoil has many more seats than LaBahn, and UMD attendance is much lower. There is no capacity problem there.
Considering that a WCHA tournament championship has never had attendance over 3K you are correct. On the other hand, given the attendance level it could be held at LaBahn and other places. It used to move around more.

I own a very nice bright red Nike hoodie. Big W on it to. From a friend at Washington State. Also have a similar Nike hoodie from a friend just down the road at Idaho, whose colors are black and gold.

I made the mistake of wearing that in Dinkytown the week we played Iowa in football. Got a little hassle for it until someone saw it wasn't a hawkeye hoodie.

Well, who ya got?

UW - UMD - Goaltending is the big equalizer to high powered offenses. The last 4 games UW has played a lethargic opponent, will they come out of the gate slow and not be able to overcome it? I think this is a 50-50 game.

Tunnellers - TWSNBN - Can the tunnellers save their season? I think this is a 40-60 game.

Don't count the Dogs out. In their slump, they held the Badgers to 2 goals in Duluth. IDK if they win, but they won't make it easy for Wisconsin. Hell, they could make the Frozen Four.

the Gophers played their best and most complete game of hockey in our first game vs. Columbus at Ridder winning 3-1. The second game turned into a godawful rock fight that I'm still disgusted about. If we play our game and don't end up giving them power plays at the most advantageous times, we win. It's a coinflip.

If the Gophers win Friday, I'll even drive up Saturday morning.

No real surprises at the banquet last night. Maybe MJ winning coach of the year was, I don't know. Frosty, Idalski and Muzzy underperformed, Schuler didn't elevate UMD necessarily. I think Fryklund or Dickerman did really nice jobs. Brausen did as well in a tough spot.
