WCHA 21-22 Season

Mankato up on UMD 3-2 after one. If they could shoot at better than 60%, they’d have a bigger lead!

Here I was thinking it was more UMD's problem but you have shown me another side to this...lol

The other thing is that we should be told we are not observing this correctly.

Last week vs SCSU, Chobak shut the Huskies out on 14 shots. Soderberg allowed 3 goals on 25. I guess she must have made some impressive saves. I'll be interested to see if a change is made. Not the first goalie I've seen with an Olympic hangover.

Change made...Chobak in and has 13 saves on 13 shots so far...UMD has regained the lead 4-3 with about 5 minutes left in the 2nd period.

Check that UMD scores again to make it 5-3 with a little under 3 minutes left in the 2nd period.

I think the release came out last night some time.

The guys doing play-by-play on the Ohio State stream referred to Poluzny being named.

(And I know I'm beating a dead horse, but could somebody teach the OSU camera people about light and aperture, etc. For all the other problems, their stream would be significantly less bad if they just stopped-down the lens on that main camera a half-stop, maybe a full stop,)

Now you young folk might be super competent about this newfangled thing called video. It takes some gettin' yus ta. So please have patience until we get up to speed. Rome wasn't built in a day, was it?

Well, we have our answer of overtimes (whatever thread that was). Twenty minute overtime coming Mankato and Duluth, for a trip to the WCHA final four.

And I think maybe Brittyn Fleming should ask for a recount on the all-WCHA teams. "Yikes!" two weeks ago at LaBahn, and "yikes!" again this weekend!

UMD wins 2 and a half minutes into sudden death OT on a goal by #8, so the top 4 seeds advance to the WCHA semi-finals. Quite the series between UMD and MSMU.

That was a textbook "you go first...no, YOU go first" between Giguere and Burke. Sweet goal. Mankato took UMD to overtime twice this weekend. What's up with that?

Mankato had a great season. They played with an aggressive offensive style as if they were playing to win, not just jam everybody in front of the defensive net and hope for the best, and they did it pretty successfully.

I had mixed feelings about who I wanted to win today, but I would have been really happy for the Mavs. I thought they had a legitimate chance at this series heading into it!
