WCHA 2025-26

Where did you find the Ohio score, and does it give any indication about Malachino?
Ohio State beat Durham West Lightning 7-1 on goals by newcomers Kassidy Carmichael(2), and Sanni Vanhanen(1). And also Jocelyn Amos(2), Grace McCoshen(1) and Joy Dunne(1).

Is there a box score somewhere? Is there any indication of whether Malachino played, or suited up, etc?

The projected all WCHA goalie has a 3.00 gaa after 2 games vs a AC team. Isn't that something?
Don't be too critical of that "AC team" that looks to be the toughest team on your favorite team's NC schedule. MJ has developed quite the sweet tooth in his later years. Meanwhile, I see that the 'Dogs are heading to Belfast in January as part of a 4-team showcase. I suppose it gives those programs a leg up on that recruiting hotbed.

One NC opponent from each of the other four conferences. I don't know if that's what they were going for, but it could be a good thing for the 'common opponents' piece for the Pairwise. Other than the ECAC, odds of getting a "cupcake' from the others is pretty high. Plus Maine is coached by former Badger Molly Engstrom.

I'm not sure how many n/c teams are that interested in playing UW at the moment. It takes 2 to dance.

Ironically, the Badger men are heading to Belfast next year. Must be the hot ticket these days.

That could be, but if it is the case, I think that's a mistake for eastern contenders. If a team likes its chances to make the tournament, get a look at the Badgers in October thru January if you can. Even if the opponent gets lit up, at least the roster then has some idea of the bar it has to clear. The Badgers during the first half are typically not as scary as they'll be come March. The last couple of seasons have shown that teams like UM and UMD can get at-large berths even with UW and tOSU stomping on their W/L records.

The top eastern teams have wanted those games, and of late, it's been the WCHA teams of the mind that the schedule already brings enough difficulty.

This week in the WCHA....

BC at UMtc
UMD at 'Cuse
St. Cloud @ UConn
Tommies at Lindenwood
UW at BSU

A couple fascinating series. The MNtc series is interesting, but I expect BC to get whipped. St. Cloud/UConn seems pretty even. I guess we'll see how Hockey Eazy conference matches up with the WCHA. Tommies/Lindy's could be another evenly matched series.

Up 5-0 over BC in the first and #18 maroon throws an elbow. It's like she can't help herself.

I know, reviewed, no call, but anybody who's watched any level of A.M. hockey knows she didn't try to prevent that contact, and likely amplified the contact.

Yes- I'm still salty about the run she took on KK.

Murphy looked to be in midseason form, in all aspects of her game.
