WCHA 2015-16: So here's what we think that we know...

Re: WCHA 2015-16: So here's what we think that we know...

Watching the UAH vs CC game, I thought before this that we had a lot of uncalled interference in our league, until tonight. But CC is a master at the offensive zone pick. disgusting. Really amazed the refs didn't call some of it. CC repeatedly interfered and was able to maintain offensive zone possession because of it.
Interestingly, I thought the same thing when we played LSSU. I've never seen so many blatant, uncalled picks and interference plays, as well as clutch and grabs. It basically nullified any and all speed advantages that we had over them. I don't blame LSSU for doing it but I blame the refs for not calling it.

Happy Holidays to all the WCHA fans and posters. May the new year bring you and yours a joyous and healthy holiday season.

I second that. Merry Christmas (or whatever you are celebrating) to all "non-like-minded" institutions and their fans.

On a somewhat related note, I wonder how long will it take to really start hating other teams. Even Northern. I almost wish them luck against everyone but us (Tech). Can we get some bad blood going here?!?!

The last several series between BG and Kato have been rather heated. There appears to be no love lost between the two of us.

That's alright, just makes it easier to **** on UAH! ;)

Bemidji fans don't know that pee doesn't go uphill, which is relevant because the Tennessee River — which floats just past Huntsville —*is a Mississippi River tributary, not the River itself.

Elevation of Bemidji.... 1356 feet above sea level.
Elevation of Huntsville...600 feet above sea level.

Sounds down hill to me! ;p

That's good. There's no room for love in hockey. I went to the Tech-BG game last year at BG. The Saturday night game got a little ugly and it was fun to watch. Helmets getting ripped off, students chanting "a-hole, a-hole" at Tech players. It was beautiful. BG is a place that can be really ugly for a visiting team when it's full. I hope to see more of that intensity in other arenas. By the way, all the old hockey stuff you guys have on your concourse was really interesting. It was picture-worthy.

And close, with a 3-3-2 regular season record, including 5 overtime games. So far, just one post-season game, and it was a semi-final. Given time, and a few more post-season matchups with a Broadmoor on the line, it could become a great rivalry.

Coach Bergeron had all of that stuff done. He felt that the history should be on display for all to see. I agree. There are always people out in the hall browsing through that information. It's great stuff!

Bemidji being the first town on the Mississippi is just a reminder that **** rolls downhill.

Is that better?

Hilarious. :D

By the way, have you ever been to Itasca State Park and actually walked across the headwaters of the Mississippi? It actually isn't in Bemidji, by the way. Close, though. Its sort of a bucket list kind of a thing.

Apologies in advance for asking this question from left field.

The last Final Five in Grand Rapids the WCHA had special deals at area hotels that included free shuttle service to Van Andel. Does anyone know has the league decided not to do that this year?

The push for Final Five attendance will be starting in earnest after the 1st of the year. I'd be surprised if the same setup or something similar doesn't happen.

I hope they do it again. We had a good time two years ago. The free shuttle service was great.

1. We have Monte Sano, which is above that.

2. We're on an upstream river that's much lower by the time it gets here. ;)
