These games need some hype and a series name. Given that apparently nobody wanted Tech in their conference and UAH just wanted to be in any conference...

Some UND fans on Twitter are whining that our schedule is soft. :p
I'm pretty sure that guy was a 12 year old with his first keyboard and online userid. Hard to debate someone who doesn't want to cloud the issues with facts. I gave up after a couple posts and he went on for the better part of an hour preaching from the soapbox. I don't know Whiox was even listening at that point.

That's going to be a great series!

I'm so pumped to have a suite with a bunch of old WCHA fans (mostly gophers) coming up to see that series!
Since I'll only be 90 minutes away, I might try to make it up this weekend for a game too.

May this usher in an era where contraction is not uttered and all programs can flourish.

The plan is for the Sun Devils, who won the American Collegiate Hockey Association championship last season, to play a hybrid schedule in 2015 with a mixture of DI and ACHA competition, followed in 2016 by a full DI schedule independent of conference alignment. The team plans to transition to full Division I membership in 2017 and will join a Division I conference, either the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) or the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).

Adding them to the WCHA would be interesting; not sure they would agree to the travel terms that have been imposed upon UAA, UAH, and UA_.

Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

I doubt that ASU wants to go D1, only to travel twice a season to Alaska, and twice a season to the UP to play teams that no one on campus has ever heard of. Its unfortunate, but I'm afraid that it is true. I'm not real heartbroken, as I don't think we need them as a conference. They'd fit the fist-pumper, popped-collar nature of the NCHA better than the WCHA anyway.

Very true, I'm more interested in seeing what effect this has on the rest of the landscape. If the Pac-12 gets a handful of teams going or if this means another reshuffling to keep the NCHC balanced.
