Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important
Just read this document (1 page) and tell me how horrible Alaska really was? It's not nearly as bad as they make it out to be, especially when self-reported and sufficient punishments were self-imposed. That should have been sufficient for oversights relating to Transfer credit requirements, eligibility of pre-majors, declaration of major, and progress toward degree.

In parsing that statement, I think that "These infractions were due to the university’s failure to establish and maintain adequate systems to ensure that NCAA eligibility was being performed correctly," is the key sentence. I'm going to guess that they got kids into UAF that shouldn't have been in school anywhere.

Getting them there isn't up to UA_'s Athletic Department. That's covered by the NCAA Clearing House and a pretty obvious Yes/No answer: http://web1.ncaa.org/ECWR2/NCAA_EMS/NCAA.jsp
This sounds more like they cleared the clearing house, but grades or other issues should have caused them to be ineligible during their attending of UA_.
