WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

Ferris defense? Present.

Ferris goaltending? Present.

Ferris offense? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

It's been that way for the most part for the last 20 years. 1 goal in the last 180 minutes of play is nobody's idea of how to win games.

Minnesota State at Bowling Green this weekend, should be a GREAT series.
Teams look to be pretty evenly matched, I hope we have some butts in the seats!

I'm just looking forward to having a couple of home games to go to. Miami seems like a long time ago...

2 overtime games last year at BGSU, with the teams splitting. You certainly got your money's worth then. Best of luck, and maybe we'll meet in St. Paul in March!

Seems like a ton of students will be there, should be a great environment this weekend. The Ohio State game may sellout from what I'm hearing

I'm sure the student section will be overflowing this weekend, and they'll be rowdy as hell. God bless every one of them.
BUT; I'm getting sick and tired of seeing so many empty seats in the reserved sections. The community better step up and start supporting the program. The fact that folks are already talking about the OSU game 2-1/2 weeks away shows the ignorance of the casual fan. The Minnesota State series this weekend is HUGH for us (and for them too), and while I'm glad we have been able to schedule them stinkin' buckeyes at home, that game is (for all intents and purposes) an exhibition game. This weekend REALLY matters.

It's been discussed in the Tech thread, but I don't think has been mentioned here yet. It looks like there will be 1, maybe 2 sellouts aagainst the Ugly Helmets. By the sound of it, there will be an event in Houghton like hasn't been seen in decades. Hopefully the Huskies translate that to success on the ice.

I agree wholeheartedly. I think we'll have a good turnout on Saturday night but with both high school football and Halloween trick or treat being Friday night, attendance at the hockey game may suffer. I really hope that I'm wrong about that...

I've not ever seen buzz like there is for this weekend. reservations needed for Blue Line Lunch??? Saturday sold out by Tuesday? you can walk around Houghton and feel it. so much excitement even Stanley is coming.

Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

I can certainly understand all the buzz in Houghton.
Isn't this the first time UM has played there since the early 80s?

I hope it's Tech fans who bought up all the tix, and not the f*ing wal-mart wolverines.

Do the WCHA proud!

Yup, it is. My brother and I are driving home from Appleton for the series. Can't wait!

Why did we waste points in a non-league game? We're entering a world of pain. A world. Of pain.

This isn't Vietnam, this is bowling. There are rules.

Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

Minnesota State is not faster than Bowling Green, in fact they are slower. However they are much more physical and do an excellent job in the neutral zone trapping the puck. BG couldn't get the game going North/South and MSU grinded them down while countering to get wonderful goal scoring opportunities they took full advantage of. The Gervais and Stepan lines absolutely killed the Falcons last night

Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

BG's problem was that they were too sloppy and showed no effort in the second period, and Mankato capitalized on it. BG outplayed Mankato for the first 10 minutes of the game before Mankato finally caught up. I don't know why, but we just can't seem to play a whole game; we take our foot off the gas for the second or third period.

Like Berge said in his post-game interview, Mankato is the bar. We'll know if we're legit contenders tonight, or if we're still rebuilding.
