Replay of Andrew MacWilliam's hit on Michigan Tech's Johnstone for everyone to scrutinize:
Kudos to cjzeroatbc for uploading it.
@geezer: For talking about whining you sure seem to be doing your own whining. Boo hoo.![]()
Can't imagine what was wrong with that hit.
If that's illegal, then open ice hits just need to be outlawed altogether.
Bad call.
^ Sums it up. But that seems to be the road that is being taken. At least by the WCHA refs. Don't know what it's like in the other conferences. If that's illegal, then open ice hits just need to be outlawed altogether.
That was a dirty hit.
That was a dirty hit.
That was a dirty hit.
That being said, what Petan did was disgraceful. He should be done for the series, IMO.
Very chippy/dirty game tonight. I think Tech scoring woke UND up a bit, and UND took over. Fluke goal that even Frazee would've stopped made the game closer than it should have been.
No contact to the head? Yep, those warnings about "pulling the goalie" ARE true!
There wasn't. It was shoulder to shoulder plan as day. Far be it from me to defend UND, but you're wrong.
Far from me to call out Tech's dirty play tonight, but you're wrong.
I honestly was surprised at the 5 call (it IS WCHA refs, after all), but that was a dirty hit.
I love the homer guy talking on the video... he's going "it's conclusive that it's shoulder to shoulder" at the exact same time he's watching the helmet bounce off the upraised elbow. That's the spirit boys.
Willing to bet even the MTU kids agree with me.
