UND looked terrible last night especially the PP and I'm pretty sure the passing % was under 50. At least Saunders didnt let in any goals from outside the blue line but as the 3rd seed with home ice fans and coaches expect an effort.

I think UND's confidence coming into tonight's game is fragile. One of Hak's strengths has always been getting his players to buy into their roles, but I'm not sure these guys are completely comfortable with their scheme. Pearson is a very good coach, and he had UND playing very tentative last night.

But hockey is a funny game. They might have just been out of synch last night. Problem is, Tech played well enough to win Friday night too. I still think it's cool the Sioux are playing Tech in their last home series in the WCHA.

I just hope somebody wins this thing today. This WCHA thing has been a fun ride, but let's just get it over with already.

Our radio guy observed in the post-game that the UND skaters looked tired. Pearson said that our guys didn't skate at all pre-game on Friday or Saturday, in anticipation of a possible 3 game series, while the UND coaches "skated their guys pretty briskly" both days. Then he wondered aloud how those opposing strategies might play out on Sunday.... it was interesting to hear that perspective. For a normal two-game series of course, the team would have had a morning skate both days. Hak may have been going more all-in for the sweep, we'll see if it costs them any jump tonight.

I expect to gain nothing fatigue-wise. As per a Twitter post that I echo, Tech will only win if, like last night, they outwork the Sioux.

Gott hand it to Pearson. Lot of girls teams do that, and it couldn't have been easy for him to subject his players to the kind of teasing that girly-mahn, panty-wearing, tissue-waiving softies often get.

UND finally showed up, problem was we did not have it tonight.

Mel is going to keep it going and working to get to the next level.
