WCHA 09-10 Thread

Re: WCHA 09-10 Thread

This is what Kevin Allenspach (SCSU beat writer) had today on the new schedule going forward

The WCHA has finalized a new schedule covering the 2010-11 through 2014-15 seasons. It will keep the designated rivals under the current schedule format (i.e. the teams that play each other home-and-home every year). For St. Cloud State, that means the traditional rivalry with North Dakota will be ongoing, as are the others in the league, and new members Bemidji State and Nebraska-Omaha will be paired together. These two-team pairings will be matched with another different pair each year to form a "cluster." Those four teams will play each other in home-and-home series (12 games). Teams will play the remaining eight teams at one site -- four at home and four on the road (16 games). The 28-game schedule, in keeping with the current number of games, will rotate over five years, with every team playing at every other building in three out of five seasons.

Re: WCHA 09-10 Thread

I love the extra game on thursday and getting rid of the third place game. SCSU lost two NCAA births because they lost that stupid game.:o If you think about it, half the people never go to the third place game any way so if the thursday afternoon game only has 10K, big deal. I will still get the package and if I don't want to go thursday afternoon I won't. I basically I never went to the third place game for more than a period any way.

If you weren't such a lush maybe you could go to a game for more than 20 minutes? Or you could learn to drink BEER! Failing that, you could do what the rest of the non-beer drinkers do, BRING YOUR OWN! :D Its cheaper than McGovern's by about 75%. (I guess AA is an option as well but you wouldn't be alone...)

If people haven't already seen the new WCHA schedule format, here is what Kevin Allenspach said in his blog yeasterday.

The bar is more important than some crappy third place game that the teams most of the time don't even care about.
