Ways To Know You're a Division III Fan...

Re: Ways To Know You're a Division III Fan...

: After getting let go from your job, you spend a week creating this instead of looking for a job. (BTW, this needs some updates, any help is appreciated)

impressive now i wont get lost on my way to other rinks or rack my brains figuring out where a team plays on half of the rather lacking athletic department websites

I'm not guaranteeing any accuracy on this, as I was embarrassed to have the St. Thomas mark on the wrong side of the street when Webb and I were up there a few years ago. Well, the NCHA and most of the MCHA I was able to do by memory because I have been to most of the rinks a half dozen times or more. As for the rest, I think it's right, but I had to do a lot of research for the eastern teams. I know one of the Maine teams has moved and I need to update that and there's another team that needs to be added. I've been meaning to add more detail to the markers, like website links, nearest hotels, restaurants, and bars. With all the pictures I still need to get up, work to do on the new house, and a kid to chase around, it's on the back burner.

Maybe I can take a few road trips to scout out the map now that I'm east of the Adrian Region and pawn it off on the wife as research.

You also need to update the MASCAC/ECAC NE/NE10 (they got a divorce and the NE got custody of the autobid)

Yeah, more work for me... It'll probably cause me big headaches unless Google has made it easier to change tags.

:when you make a 4 hour trip to the Twin Cities and back two days in a row, in freezing rain, because gas was cheaper than a hotel room.

:When you make the 8.5 hour trip to practically North Dakota so you can be the lone fan that out cheers there 200 fans, just to prove a point to the guy writing a "letter to the editor" in your school news paper who the true fan is.

:When you make a "side trip" from Minneapolis to St. Cloud to catch 2 periods of an afternoon St John's/Stout game before speeding back to Winona to catch Point at St. Mary's, because you are driving the infamous Matt Webb and he hadn't seen that NCHA team yet that season.

Re: Ways To Know You're a Division III Fan...

:You've had players on a certain ECAC West team friend you on Facebook because of your obsession with a certain goal song that team plays.

:You've also had a captain from said team comp you tickets for the ECAC West championship game and invite you to party with the team after the game. Sadly it wouldnt have been much of a party after they lost...

Re: Ways To Know You're a Division III Fan...

: It's Thanksgiving and your thoughts are not about the holidays, but the upcoming tournaments.

Re: Ways To Know You're a Division III Fan...

You think of Thanksgiving Day as Primelink Eve.
: You can't decide whether to tactfully ask to play the Primelink webcast at your friend's house party, or just pull it up on his computer and deal with any complaints that come up later, but you're absolutely going with one of those two options.

: You consider watching The Primelink from home and skipping out on the party to be a viable option.

: You went with option number 3, convince the friend to cancel the party and accompany you to Northfield, VT.

Re: Ways To Know You're a Division III Fan...

The Christmas Holiday Season isn't a cause for celebration; it is a cause for depression, as the thought of the long dry spell sets in :(

Re: Ways To Know You're a Division III Fan...

: There is less than three days until Christmas, and you are taking time to read this. :)
