Vermont at Boston University 2/25 and 26

Re: Vermont at Boston University 2/25 and 26

You know, here I was under the impression that the admins were cleaning up this board and yet it would seem that Rule #2 (profanity) was broken in each of the first three quotes from jc that Action Joe put up there.

How can you break a profanity rule if the profanity is ****** out ?

I will also add that if someone is legitimately offended by it they can message me and I will delete the offending comments. I'm all for a good flamefest, but my intention is not to actually offend anyone.

All 2,490 off your posts offend me, please delete.

Of course, you could probably ask yourself if our favorite BU writer violates Rule #7 every time he posts trying to sell his crappy book but I'm sure there is some twisted thinking of an excuse there.

weighart and mwade both provide content for USCHO, for probably an unsubstantial amount of pay, and both promote their own work on the fanforum. I have no problem with either doing so, and am not surprised you are only upset at the BU poster.

In a post actually related to hockey, Warso is out this weekend with a concussion and Megan is questionable with an ankle injury. According to FL over at Boston Hockey Blog, Ruikka and NiCastro will be the top pairing then the freshman and MacGregor with Scoobey. Apparently Santan and KGilroy will play if Megan cant play and if he does they will split starts. Any thoughts?

I thought you wrote Satan for a second. Was quite interesting for a minute.

Carry on with hockey/flaming/idiotic commenting.

I'm not trying to defend BU fans here and I'm not trying to start a flame war, but I've been wondering this for a long time- What is BC fans' problem with BU fans calling players by the same nickname all their teammates and coaches use? I hear B's fans use Looch and Bergie all the time and no one makes fun of them. Sox fans use Tek, Wake, Youk and Paps without being ridiculed. Should fans just not be allowed to use nicknames? Get rid of A-Rod, KG and Ovie, too? I just don't understand why you BC fans have such a problem with it, and why you only have that problem when it comes to BU fans. Literally no one else in the entire sporting universe cares if fans call players by nicknames. Even if they make the nickname up themselves, which isn't even the case with BU fans, who cares?

Honestly, I don't care that much, but I do think there is a big difference between nicknames for famous pro athletes and nicknames for relatively unknown college hockey players. Scoobey for sean escobedo is probably the best example of that. I also think there's a clear difference between what college teammates call each other and what a fan calls a 18-22 year old kid. Look, it's obviously not a big deal...just not my thing.

It's funny when a BC-UVM flamefest breaks out on a BU-UVM thread!

OK, its only one UVM poster. Where are all the other UVM fans???

FWIW, Parker calls Escobedo "Scooby" too. Also, Looch is only 22 and he's had that nickname for a few years now.

York does the same thing...I'm talking about fans. Just speaking for myself, not my thing.
