uws vs st norberts

Re: uws vs st norberts

hats off to Superior for a big win; totally bummed first that I ended up not being able to make the trip north, second that my compuer last nite was major cranky and the brief time i could get on the internet couldn't get the audio to work.......hoping to sneak updates during work this afternoon..........go green knights!

Re: uws vs st norberts

Superior is going to be a real threat down the line here. Stauber has them ready, and the players have bought into the system. I forsaw a sweep this weekend, but was leery of the backlash from the green shaded sunglass crowd, so i didnt say anything. off to the rink, which is a nice change of venue. section 102 has great lines.

Re: uws vs st norberts

SNC needs to wake up from this slumber that they are in... Last weekends efforts were very sub par and, while it sounded like they played a better game last night, that doesn't cut it in this league. I don't intend to take any credit away from UWS; they buried their chances and took care of business. I hope that this afternoon goes much better for the Knights. Memo to the D-men: Stop making weak and horrible turnovers on the blue line and letting the other team go 1 on the tender or odd man rushes on such a regular basis! I can't remember a 3 game stretch where SNC was that sloppy on the blue line. And the players in this league are good enough to make you pay as was evidenced last night.

Winners are highly motivated by losing...Time for the proverbial "gut check"

Let's go boys! Get it back on track.

I understand that the NCHA wanted to ship the plaque that TC is supposed to get when he passes RH "Bob" Peters for most NCHA wins to Superior for presentation after Thursday's game.

Talk about locker room bulletin board material...

At least St. Norbert suggested to the NCHA that that probably wouldn't be appropriate.

Re: uws vs st norberts

Ryd scores short handed, now Stroh gets a goal tender interference call, he's not happy on that one...........so jackets have two man advantage

Re: uws vs st norberts

Sup must have scored on power play while I was away from my desk..........SNC leading by one goal, 5 - 4

Re: uws vs st norberts

I guess SNC can live with a split. This is the kind of game I was expecting for both games. They could have wrapped the NCHA up this weekend with a sweep but I had a feeling that was going to be too much to ask the way Superior has been playing in conference play. Congrats to Coach Coughlin in the huge milestone. He's been amazing.

Re: uws vs st norberts

Congrats to Coughlin! What a milestone, He deserves it! Chatted with him briefly before Thursdays game. Not about the milestone, but about the team being able to adjust the schedule for these games when some of the players had J terms this week, but the University is allowing them to complete these on Sunday. Nice job SNC for allowing your student athletes to do this.

do you really think there was an intention by the ncha to diss uws with that?????!!!? im not sure what you should be more embarassed by this post or your job hosting the ff banquet the last time it was in suptown. that said it was an enjoyable visit to the amsoil this weekend. the people in the duluth should be proud of that building beautiful place.

Re: uws vs st norberts

I understand this post was directed to Pete but I felt obligated to interject. AMSOil is a top notch modern arena with all the perks of a D-1 barn or even pro arena. Frozen 4? Oh yeah. Olympics? Could host the Peru vs. Lesotho match easily! Plus, regarding the F4, the attached DECC arena still has a working sheet. Perfect for practice if needbe.
Just returned from Duluth....Agreed the AMSOIL Arena is a first class facility. Would make a great F4 venue.

Considering the SID at St. Norbert is on here saying that St. Norbert told the league that it wouldn't be appropriate, I'm going to lean towards the idea that there WAS an intention by the league to do this, but the Green Knights were humble enough to tell them no...

You might want to be careful about assumptions, Sir Nubs. I said nothing about what the NCHA's intent might have been. If you would have removed the chip from your shoulder long enough to actualy read my post you would at least have been able to see that intent would have nothing to do with how the message was received at UWS, and that it would make great motivational material for the 'Jacket players. What coach would pass up a chance to play the "us-against-the-world" card? Were the situation reversed, perhaps you would take a different view.

Coach C's milestone deserves to be celebrated in front of the home fans in the CCC rather than on some remote rink far from those who would most appreciate the accomplishment -- the home fans deserve to be able to applaud the man who has been most responsible for the success of St Norbert Hockey. It is a well deserved acknowlegement of a significant event in a coach's career, and speaks volumes about Coach Coughlin's loyalty and devotion to the Green Knights. In that context, regardless of intent, the NCHA's suggestion was ill-advised even if well intended.

When you have performed in public as often as I have over the past 55 years you too will have performances you are proud of and some you are not. That's part of being a performer. I think in this case, however, the embarassment is all yours, or should be. I have had a long career with many triumphs and some failures. I hope you will be able to say the same of your own life at some point. I wish you well.
