uws vs st norberts

Re: uws vs st norberts

Just arrived in Duluth for this critical 2 game series.
Drove by the Amsoil Center. Attached parking ramp makes it very handy for the fans.
I assume this is a big ice sheet.
Should be interesting to see which lineup Coach C. goes with tonite: 7/11 or 6/12.
I would guess it will be the 6/12 lineup to get a little more speed on the big sheet.
Crowd size could be pretty weak with the Thursday nite and Friday afternoon starting times.
I appreciate the revised schedule as I now can get back to Wisconsin in time for Saturday games:
Adrian @ Lawrence (men) and Superior @ SNC (women)!!!

Pete, post updates as they happen. I wont be around a computer tonight. Did you make the trip by yourself, or are you rolling with your posse?

sorry guys, trying to type quickly. after 1 it is 2-0 Superior scoring 2 goals in the final minute of the first period.

Re: uws vs st norberts

Final 3-0 Superior.

I thought we'd see some goals scored tonight. I didn't see SNC getting shutout like that.

Re: uws vs st norberts

Tim D. said on the radio he thought they played OK outside of a couple of bad breakdowns in the last 30 seconds or so of the 1st period.

Re: uws vs st norberts

Was quite the scene tonight at AMSOil Arena! Pretty good crowd and a shutout, nothing better on a Thursday night! #1 in the NCHA on the line the Jackets sat back after scoring 2 in the last minute of the first period. To be honest, I was not confident until the final seconds of the 3rd period, even with a 3 goal lead.

Tomorrow afternoon will be fun. Come to AMSOil Arena and join the fun!

Farina scored 2 unassisted and Strandberg led with a perfect netminders shutout againt the #2 ranked team!

See you all tomorrow!

This was a solo trip. Mr. Popcorn did not make the trip. USOil Jim drove up with another group. Not many SNC fans in attendance.
All the credit to the Jackets in this one. They played a smart, aggressive game. Played great D in the neutral zone. Didn't allow the Knights to cycle the puck for long in the offensive zone.
SNC played dearly for their two defensive lapses at the end of the first period. The first Jacket goal came on a rebound shot and the second was 'pretty weak' with the puck sliding under O'Brien with less than a minute left in the period.
Came out with more fire in the second...hit the pipe three times, but could not take advantage of their opportunities.
Had more chances in the third, but could not finish.
Today's result will likely break the tie at the top of the conference standings. Whichever team pulls out the victory will have a leg up for the conference crown.
The Amsoil Arena is gorgeous. Very easy to navigate. Suites line one rim of the stands, with a total of 6500 seats available.

Pete

Would Amsoil be a good place for a D-3 Frozen Four??

I understand this post was directed to Pete but I felt obligated to interject. AMSOil is a top notch modern arena with all the perks of a D-1 barn or even pro arena. Frozen 4? Oh yeah. Olympics? Could host the Peru vs. Lesotho match easily! Plus, regarding the F4, the attached DECC arena still has a working sheet. Perfect for practice if needbe.
