i think a young gun might be the hire. larson has pretty much won at every level, knows the system well, and is an alum, might be a slam dunk

Straight up ask the school for a list of all applicants. If it tries stonewalling, request it in accordance with the FOIA. They have to cough it up whether they like it or not.

I would hope there is more than one candidate up for a D-I assistant job there are some assistant jobs available and those get lots of applications. Got a name?

i cannot seem to get any names it seems to be very secretive. do they go hs route or junior or college route, esse, larson both solid alums with gd coaching records, also heard Kevin Smalleys name another hs coach, record not as strong as other two but a decent coach

I never have been able to figure out the, hire an alum philosophy. It doesn’t take long for anyone to find their way around a campus. What does take time is knowing the junior leagues, contacts in those leagues, and being able to snatch the best players that aren’t getting D-I rides out of those leagues. But I guess it all depends on whether or not the D-III school is actually committed to hockey. My old school sure as heck isn’t, campus rink, beautiful setting, good academics, junior hockey all around, and a .375 win % over 13 years. So I wish UWS the best in their search, at least they are doing one.

i agree, but would be nice if they let the fans get an idea as to when. one guy on here said campus visits this week, they do not lack for prominent alumni and people in the area with good credentials hope to hear something soon, mike Guzzo at Silver Bay is another guy that might fit, excellent x and os guy who has won a lot of games over the years
