UWS Hockey

Re: UWS Hockey

not one alumni or hockey guy on committee. nice move uws do you think he knows the west or has connections. they had 2 candidates both alumni good luck i say, over and out, im done, should have kept danny, go jacket basemall

Why are you so obsessed with them hiring an alumnus? An AD keeping an insider who was his buddy around is what sent Superior into the tank in the first place. McKenna looks like a real solid hire with good experience. Look at UWSP...hired an alum in Wil Nichol and he was a complete embarrassment both to himself and the program. Then they bring in Chris Brooks as an outsider, make three Frozen Fours, and win a championship in his first five years. But I guess in your world UWSP would be better off if they had stuck with the alum? Might not have made any Frozen Fours but at least the team would still be doing those awesome meditation sessions.

Re: UWS Hockey

Fine, whatever. Just remember that being provincial is what turned your program into a dumpster fire to begin with.

they have a very successful alumni in Penticton. an ex head coach in Burnsville and an ex player as a pro scout. they have alumni out there that could help, thats all im saying i do not wish this gentleman bad luck, speaking of NAHL coaches wasnt Corey Millan available who won the league just a year ago??

Re: UWS Hockey

I have been watching this thread for about a month now.... This is the first time I've ever blogged on a forum such as this... I never thought I'd do it either... I put an application in for this position but pulled out at the time of Phone interviews... There are many reasons for my decision. I have been mentioned in this thread just a shy under a million times and I'm flattered that Upfan1111 likes me so much, however this position needs to go to someone that can be committed completely to the program and someone that can obviously handle living on a small salary. I love UWS Hockey and the Black and Yellow runs through my blood thicker then anything. Thanks to those that thought I would have been a good candidate but I do have a very good job where I'm at Coaching hockey and my decision to continue here is Sincere. I, like everyone else am hoping the process finishes soon and a Coach can be named. I'm looking forward to seeing the program get back to where it needs to be.

Alumni19 (2000-2003) :-)
I seriously thought upfan WAS you. No lie. It was like that scene in Arrested Development when Tobias went to the studio to get the Funke name out there.

Re: UWS Hockey

As for the new coach, I don't care if he's alumni, outsider, alien, or cow...just as long as they're not a cat. I hate cats. I just want wins. That's all. Sure, it'd be a feel good story for a former player to come back and lead the team to glory again. But what are the odds of that happening? Sometimes, as it was "pointed"(god I amuse myself) out with UWSP, an outsider can bring in new ideas and turn the corner for a school.

I'm just glad the mystery is solved, and for the sake of UWS hope he has learned more than he did in one of his previous assistant jobs.

I thought for sure it was the Butler! :)

Why would those people leave their current jobs for a ****ty paycheck?
