UW-Stout Regular Season -- 2009-10

Re: UW-Stout Regular Season -- 2009-10

You know you are the heckler when the cop tells you coach from Stevens Point says to tell that guy not to yell so much. HAHHAHAHAH. Best game of the year so far for STOUT!

I'm sure you did your part and then some, but I find this hard to believe. If it was in horribly bad taste in front of children or something I could see him mentioning it, but I doubt Nichol cares about some guy being loud.

That and from the game I was at, the crowd was pretty tame.

That’s what the cop told me. I didn't swear very much. I just got on Sutter for being the worst hockey player in his family. Or Erstad for being drafted by the blues and playing division 3 hockey. The crowd was lame on Saturday but Friday was pretty big. Hunting season made it not as packed as it usually gets. So yeah I had a great time. That’s all that matters to me, crowd might be lame but I got my point across.

Re: UW-Stout Regular Season -- 2009-10

Two weekends ago, UW-Stout traveled to Dulutn, MN for a two game series against St. Scholastica. Andy Sternberg (SR) is a Duluth native, his parents treated the team to a fantastic lunch and a place to relax before Saturday's game. We dined at the Sternberg's restaraunt which they sold a few years ago. Mr. Sternberg literally built the entire restaraunt one board at a time.

While were on the road, nearly all upadting will occur on Stout Hockey's Twitter feed. It can be found at http://www.Twitter.com/stouthockey.

Were about 45 mins outside Madison, WI. As of 8:25 am

We are practicing tonight in Cleveland, OH then staying overnight there.

Watch feed for more updates.

Well that was a little like being the beaten red-headed step child.

I realize the bus ride might have had something to do with it, but the coach was aware of that. If it would have been that large of a factor why did he schedule us to go out that far? Who knows, something to prove, maybe? We'll never know.

At least we got a look at what we might be up against later on in the season... if we make it that far. Time to start stepping up and working a lot harder.

Eau Claire will hopefully be a nice rebound to get us back on track. After this last weekend however, who knows what the future holds.

That's my depressed rant for the night. Happy holidays everyone.

You're kidding, right?

Is Stout even planning on playing out their remaining schedule?

As for why Coach Watkins would want to travel so far, it's simple, the Primelink is the premier thanksgiving tourney in D3 hockey...

Re: UW-Stout Regular Season -- 2009-10

I was at the Tourney this weekend and i thought your Goalie #29 did the best he could in all honesty if he had a denfense this weekend it might have helped. Poor defensive lplay caused alot of goals. and Turnovers on breakouts right in the slot nothing a goalie can do but guess. It was nice to see them play but i think the defences could use some help.

Re: UW-Stout Regular Season -- 2009-10

FYI, Salem State flew to Minneapolis then bussed up to Duluth on Thursday. They looked fresh both nights.

Re: UW-Stout Regular Season -- 2009-10

It's hard to find buried in this debacle, but there was one piece of good news for the Blue Devils this weekend.

Congratulations to Derek Hanson on becoming the school's all-time leading scorer!

Re: UW-Stout Regular Season -- 2009-10

Did anyone see the games this weekend? The scores look pretty one sided, especially the Norwich game. Did Stout seem just off their game or just not at the same level as these two teams? Wonder how much it would have helped ingoalie Hopper was back in the net.Tuff because Stout had momentum forom their previous wins and then to get dominated thuis weeeknd is ruff. Just gotta have a short memory with River Falls in a couple weeks

I think as I said before it was a combination of things on Friday - the bus ride might have had something to do with it, but Norwich just was a lot faster. On a smaller ice surface big helps and slow doesn't hurt ...

Similar story on Saturday against Midd. By the end of both games, Stout looked really, really tired.

Re: UW-Stout Regular Season -- 2009-10

The first period of the Middleburry game we stayed with them and in my humble opion out played them. The rest of the game was a little different. Middleburry took control of the game and never looked back.
