Re: UVM at Lowell 3/5 & 3/6

On Lowell's style of play: I understand your point and that is a very reasonable point of view. As for myself, I don't mind watching any style of play in hockey as long as it is well executed. I guess I'm saying I can appreciate that they are talented, well coached and putting into play the game plan they've practiced effectively.

Someone correctly correlated the style of play in the BC UML game thread to watching snails screw.

Re: UVM at Lowell 3/5 & 3/6

Vermont's sweep last week was certainly a blessing. Not only does it allow Lowell to control thier destiny in the hunt for home ice, but it also seems to have strengthed the UVM fan delusion that their team is among the elite in Hockey East. And by "elite" I mean top five.

I seemed to recall this same song and dance last year around this time....right before Lowell went up to Burlington, kicked in the front door of the "charming" Gutterson Field House and punked your sorry team to the tune of a 3-0-1 record in consecutive weekends.

Now we come to 2010. 'Hawks doing the hosting this time around, and the only thing standing in the way of a Lowell home playoff series are 19 less talented players in green and gold.

Given what Lowell has at stake, and the small fact that they're the better team, leaves me with little doubt as to what the result will be. A resounding Lowell win, and an even bigger thud when the Vermont fans come back down to earth.

Believe it, dogsie.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

You really do need some therapy. Get over the inferiority complex the reality is both teams are mediocre this year but UVM played a tougher schedule and managed to go 6-1 out of conference. At the end of the day UVM was in and UML didn't make it last year so you won the battle and lost the war..congrats.

And what happened to all the smack talk of taking HE blah blah blah at the beginning of the year? The real game is is different than your stratomatic league... both teams suck equally ...not much more to be said.

Re: UVM at Lowell 3/5 & 3/6

We haven't won anything since 1996..

Neither has UML...I was there ;)

This is like a sport, Jon, it's why I only have 500+ post and to enjoy a hot or cold beverage reading this before bed is a great way to have a laugh or two at the end of a long day.

Re: UVM at Lowell 3/5 & 3/6

I don't see what hippies who smoke weed have anything to do with the games. Ya there are some hippies here at UVM and ya there is some weed, so what. There really are not that many all out hippies, and weed im sure is pretty prevalent on the Lowell campus as well. If we wanna talk about the students of each school and not hockey than I am sure we can talk about how most of the students at Lowell probably could not/did not get in to UVM, and those "weed smoking hippies did". But that is a stupid argument.

As far as the games go it should be a very good series. Each team is just as good as the other as much as anyone denies it. Are there any Injuries on the Lowell side for this weekend? For the Cats I think deffinately Wahs Stacey and maybe Mike Spillane are out but I am not totally sure.

There are, but it doesn't matter. Injuries happen. Lowell has played with them all season long and are in place for home ice. They'll win these two games and play at home the following weekend... unlike UVM.

Re: UVM at Lowell 3/5 & 3/6

i can for sure say this: 4th place ≠ 7th place. sorry homebro

i can for sure say this: 12th place ≠ 21th place. sorry homebro

And unlike the battle for 4th in HE UML can not flip the pairwise over this weekend.

And when was the last time Division 1 Super Power Vermont beat a Lowell team that "belongs" in Division 2?

hint: it was not in 2009

I'll take last year all over again :D That would put Vermont in the frozen four of the tournament and Lowell missing out as usual. Just like it should be. And will be. :)

UVM is in 5th not 7th and as has been pointed out before they are 13th in PWR to UML's 22nd. The teams will play this out and after the weekend it will all sort itself out..If UML is so great they will get into the tourney and same for UVM.

Why is Spillane out? And good analysis of the situation....dope is everywhere..and 3/4 of UVM's campus is from NYC or Boston suburbs..
